Default Way Way Too Serious

people here are just way too serious about some free poker and im not trying to be rude or obnoxious .at the the regular tables its a different story but in the mini tournys most players act as if they are really going to lose their money, lol. lighten up and just play the cards that you get dealt, win or lose. if there are possible hands that you opponents can have then most likely they have them if they are betting. if you can count and you know all the possible hands that your opponents can have, then you bet or fold accordingly. and what is with the last two players left in a mini tourny playing for 15 or 20 mins or longer trying to win it all. i never play it out i just go all in, win or lose. if you make it to 3rd or 2nd you win chips. then you go all in and win or lose so that you can get in another tourny and stay in until there are only 3 left. its free poker for christs sake, ease up ,lol. Yeah dont be reckless and have lots of patience but have some fun and make some webfriends. its not about always winning. there are too many better than average players here to win all the time.

I am in the tourney to win, usually. I can't say I always play my strongest 'game', there are times when I get a bit loose once I reach top 3. When I do set myself on a First Place attitude, I don't mess around either. Small bets have no place for my game. It is big bets or no bets, no need to drag it out. Perhaps a cash game would give me a different attitude. But I agree with you Michael, get on with it, and get on to the next one!

I prefer if people take it seriously. It means they usually play better.

I agree with you Micheal to a point, but when you've invested enough time and thought to make it to the final three, it's usually worth it to try and win. 2nd place sucks after playing a tourney up to 1 hour. Especially at the higher tables. Having said that, odds are much higher at winning with two or three players so I tend to play very aggresive and try and win quick.

I agree. I do need to apologize for my play as of recent, I get in the middle of a game/tournament and something comes along, which is urgent. I go all in just to get out. I wish I wound not win when I do this. lol. I guess just get up and leave.
I try to have fun here and enjoy the site, its a great place to learn and meet good folks.
Have fun.

I take it all serious, you might disagree and think im a prat but i'm on this site to improve my game, so when it comes to playing with real money you have the advantage. But at the end of the day some people are competitive and don't like to lose ( me).

OK, well, I agree it is not always about winning, and not only about winning, but it is about playing poker, not gambling. it is hard to play with people who don't care at all about winning or loosing and always go all in, or at least way too often... they simply would not do that if this was real (money) poker.. they usually don't survive long anyway...
In tourneys, however, I think people do need to be a bit more understanding vis a vis other people and should compromise. Once you reach final two (when 3 are left there is sitll quite a bit of competition going on, and one should play wise) I think it is wise to cut it shorter...for reasons of basic decency.
But, to learn how to play actual poker, one should employ patient and wise approach.
Just take it easy and enjoy! It's amazing we have this oportunity to start with.
Take care.

even if its free to play im still gonna play as if its 4realz thats why you need to play your best to see if you can play with the rest.... i hate when people go all in pre flop wit low cards and try to get lucky.. so i dont think its right for you to say we are to serious, we are just trying to improve our game

i try to play to win, getting to the last 3 is good, but winning and improving your game is the object.
i think the problem is because you 3 or 4 all in's first couple of hands so your quickly down to 6 or 7 players and the blinds are still very low,so your down to the last 3 and the blinds are still only 50/100.
if you were down to last 3 and blinds were 250/500 or above it wouldn't last so long, i know what michael's saying i've been there with him in a last 3,and the blinds dictated the play, but for me patience and play to win
