Question Yearly reset for Tournaments toplist?

Hi,

I know 2008 is far away from beeing over but I think we should discuss that now : Should we do a yearly reset on the big tournament toplist?

It's yet a huge work to hit the top66 there and in the long run it will simply be impossible for newcomers... So I thought we could apply a yearly reset and post each year the top15 in a "big tournament hall of fame" year per year.

Do you see a better way to handle that and keep things competitive?

'Lava

So everyones chips would be reset at the end of every year? And the fight for top spot would start again??

Sounds good to me.. I think everyone will enjoy having a real shot at the top spot. And to have your name forever plastered onto the WALL OF FAME Bragging rights or what?

no, I'm talking about big tournament toplist points, no chip reset planned (the 5% do the trick there).

Why don't you just add another toplist, yearly. You already have the rolling monthly, the yearly could be on the same format.

I think its good to see the names that have put the effort in over time and it would be a pity if the present list disappeared.

I quite like the fact that i'm so far behind it gives a good incentive, I only started in March and i'm starting to sneak onto a list or two, it can be done, but hey i'll go with the majority

Hi guys,

I am a newcomer and i am 1 step away to enter the chips toplist, so i think that if newcomers work hard they will get the chance to enter any toplist.......

i dont think that is too fair for the older ones thats been on the site for awhile , i think with people coming and going newcomers stand a chance, and loyalty should remain with the older site members . just my thoughts ,good luck with your decision i support you eitherway.

I think a yearly reset would be good, and I like the idea of the "Hall of Fame" that would be good too. Maybe you could consider having an all time medals table ?

i think a total yearly reset mite be a good idea because the people at the top are just gettin further away from the people at the bottom, and it will give all the new comers a chance to be at the top. i have no doubt that by the end of 2008 the members will have doubled.

No need for total reset, the chip counts change all the time daily...many really new people in top 10 chips list right now.

MAKES SENSE TO ME BLACKLAVA,YOU CAN STILL HAVE AN ALL TIME/HALL OF FAME LIST AS WELL,TO INCLUDE ALL YEARS.

BUT REMEMBER THERE ARE PLAYERS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN HERE THAT LONG THAT ARE ALREADY PUSHING IN TO THE TOP 15's. BECAUSE THERE ARE NOW ALOT MORE BIG TOURNEY'S TO ACCUMULATE POINTS FROM.

BUT I AGREE,GOOD IDEA.

I agree with the idea.

But definitely good to keep a "hall of fame" archive.

My one other thought, if you are going to make the tournaments toplist based on a yearly ranking without a hall of fame, then you should also be deleting the chips toplist hall of fame as that will be equally hard to get into for new players.
