Unhappy connecting to server

I keep getting repeated 'attempting to connect to server' message appearing when playing (both real money & play chips).
I was on IE8 so have uninstalled it but the problem is still the same using IE7.
I do not have anything else running at the same time.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem may be & what else I can do.

It is starting to annoy me big time as it causes a delay during my turn, sometimes I do not even see the winning hand.

HELP PLEASE

I've heard of a lot of people having issues with IE. I used to as well as chuckster.

I have had Firefox for years now and have had very few issues, and after he downloaded it, he never had any issues either.

Maybe you should try that.

Thx Breezy, yes I've heard Firefox seems to have less problems.

If I go to Firefox how will that affect (if any) my download as I originally specified IE when I first downloaded the program.

Will I need to install OP66 again?

I don't think you'll have to reinstall it, but if you do, all your passwords and log in info will be the same, so it shouldn't be much of an issue.

also important to allow the updates for the download version when they come available, I know some people were not allowing them.

Been having the same issues the last few days....and I always allow the updates.
Dont understand how running firefox would make a diffence as its not running on an internet page....unless I've got my wires crossed??

thx everyone for your advice.

I think I've got to the bottom of my problem............USELESS *@~#?$&! BELKIN WIRELESS ROUTER.

I have connected the modem directly into the laptop thus bypassing the router and hey presto, trouble free play.

I guess I might need a new one, just as well Xmas is on the way soon!!

Anyway thx again everyone for all your help & advice

just an update in case anyone else has experience the same problem...

my problem was my belkin router, it must have been getting interfered with!
I've changed the channel in the router from channel 1 to 9, now everything is OK.

HAPPY DAYS
