Hi,

sorry there is another issue behind now... here is a copy of the network tech message :

""""
As we were changing servers in need of better services than that one provided we found that our hosting removed our DDoS protection and blocked our IP in an attempt to corner us down. This has reflected on your game client, it is not loading at the moment since we cannot guarantee that our hosting has left the hub unsupervised.

We will complete the transfer of data tomorrow, and so the game client will be able to be launched again. We apologize for the inconveniences this may have caused; however it is a situation that escaped our control. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
""""

All sites on network are down until that fix later today

Sorry for the mess again

thanks for the update, Lava. We'll see how accurate the estimate is this time...

in the meantime, i have a question:

WHY is it that this seems to be happening with more and more frequency? After the script change, there were the occasional glitches, sure, as to be expected from any site with a massive server, i would assume. But it was RARE.. maybe once every couple of months or so,,.. We've now had, to my memory, about 4 or 5 complete 'shut downs' in the past 2 months approximately. We seem to be moving BACKWARD... the site becoming MORE UNRELIABLE. It's becoming a hit and miss game, now, with folks losing more and more confidence in the site's stability. To my simple mind, if these issues are being 'worked on', shouldn't the site be getting STRONGER rather than WEAKER? For instance, the explanation that has been given us for this time's glitch is almost a verbatim copy from the last time a few weeks ago. Maybe it's because I'm a 'hardware guy'.. but to my way of thinking, if something breaks, you fix it to make it stronger.. but here it seems like every time things get fixed it only brings the next breakdown even closer.
Right now, with the trend that I am seeing, I'd lay money on the site going down again in the same way within 3 weeks.

Reading between the lines that sounds to me like ddos or someone was/are holding the site hostage over the hosting situation ???

I know it looks like site is having more and more problems but that's technically false : The script is stronger than before BUT there was an attack on network last month and the actual issue as the past ones are about having the full security on site all the time.
If you read the message from tech, it has nothing to see with script stability itself, it's about network security.
Afterward you'll say : "The effect is the same", right but I just wanted to add that, we can't blame only techs here

It means that the hosting provider can't let the site run without the Ddos protection now : It can push the whole hosting center down (with other sites there too), so Ddos protection (which is the protection against hackers) is a must.

Lava.. from ONE WEEK AGO: the word was this ( copied from Kev's post, but supposedly from you ):
latest from lava

ok, IP for game server has been modified, asking techs to change where game.onlinepoker66.com point now
should be ok in a few minutes max, but could take up to 48h to resolve worldwide for 100% of the users
usually it takes between 2 min and 2h

blacklava will post later, but we should be on very soon

this sounds VERY similar to what we have just heard from you about THIS downtime...?
and yes, perhaps it is the network, not the script , ( all greek to me, btw lol )... but my point remains the same,,, THE SITE IS GOING DOWN MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY.

Exactly that was the same story last week : there was an IP change on game server, now it's on game server and other servers.
They won't change IP all the time, it's a matter of finding the best network setup then things won't change.

...so then, we can expect more of this until that 'best network setup' is found?

It should be the final IP change, at least that's the goal when moving to another IP range.

I think it's a shame for the people who are registered for tournaments, but I'm sure they will not lose their deposits.I hope it will all get fixed soon and that people will try and be patient.Poker is not everything. Thank you for keeping us in the loop Blacklava.Good luck with sorting it out.

I wouldn't take that bet m8, not even with very long odds! I said last night that I'd check this morning, but that I figured it would be Friday--at least--before I was able to play. I hate it when I'm right about things like that> And to the Australian player who feels they're a bit behind in internet standards, I live in Ireland. The joke up till a couple of years ago was that Aer Lingus pilots, on landing in Dublin, would announce, "Welcome to Ireland, ladies and gentlemen, please set your watches back 50 years!"
