Default Fairness For Our Antipodean Members

Can all the OP66 Medal Tourneys not be all set up with the same criteria ?

The Wombats seems to be the only one that requires a minimum of 20 players to start or else it gets cancelled.

It is a bit unfair to our "down under" members if they cannot get to play for their own medals in their own time zone because of the lack of players.

Well said Tic, It annoys me when I get up at 8am on the weekend ( the things someone will do to get a Double slam ) just to find the Wombats is cancelled. Would definately make sense to have the same set of rules as the other 3 regional tourneys.

the timing of this tourney is not the best for those of us from "down under" anyway..it starts at 5pm and most of us dont finish work till 5:30...but we do the best we can to try to make it as good as the others

In the same situation than jock (for the double) and frustrated as well: not an easy time to arrange playing.

So, yes in all fairness, and particularly for the most regular players: get rid of this unfair rule (I didn't know it was the only tournament with this limitation until reading this thread and just thought it could gather less players, as for me I think there should be simply no limitation and let those who are there compete).

All the op tourneys need 20 players by five minutes to the start time except the weekly Mammoth and Ladies and then late reg is allowed.

I'm sure they need 20 reg'd to kick off.
Atleast they were. When kev got the NY tourny on the go, when none were
scheduled at the last f##k up by the tourny manager, it required 20
and was almost cancelled.

I think wombats generally has less reg'd because the of
the time difference with the rest of folk here.

Just checked, on the Hetmans further tourny info (link on hets lobby page)
it says tourny 20-500. So i'm guessing they are all the same.
Nothing unfair there, just unfortunate for our aussie friends
when not enough peeps reg.

if that's the case bobble; surely it would
make sense to change the time by 1 hour

yep BC currently has 15 registered with an hour to go and it says (need 20) so the only difference is the number of players around wanting or able to play at wombatz time

If they could set wombats an hour later it would make a big difference to us aussies I think....5pm in the afternoon is too unrealistic to expect workers to get home in time to register and play. Yes it would be an hour later for everyone....but I for one would like to be able to play my own tourney

would like to take this oppertunity to thank rock diva who is nearly always in oz wombats to make up the numbers, as i dont think she plays many and has a damn fine tourney average as she is nearly always on final table without playing a hand. Thanks Maggie its a real bummer when these tourney's are cancelled.
