free security software???

hi, having real problems with poker today, and i guess that it is no coincidence that my security software has expired today too.
so does any1 know of any free online software i can use to tide me over until i buy latest norton or equivalent..

AVG they do free version and i never had any probs with it

I was going to say that dragon i never have any probs with it and it saves you paying for it aswell xx

ok, thanks for quick replys, tried to instal, but needs a little time, so ill try tomorrow. and ill see if flash poker is any better for me in tonights outlaws...

i use avira anti virus m8 that works great
also zone alarm firewall is free i have used this for years with no problems

no m8 i dont do you use ccleaner this is a great bit of software that deletes your cookies and browser history
available at download.com

also check your default browser and make sure your home page hasnt been highjacked and is trying to reroute your viewing page

when you start the download does a yellowish bar open under your tool bar if yes click this then click allow download

avast home edition is easy to download...jimmy, if you download another antivirus program while you still have norton or an old one installed it will clash and cause you probs hun....

yep, ive clicked the tab under tool bar to continue. click download, click ok to continue, but nothin happens.. do you guys use vista??

no im on xp m8 i think towering texan or thebounty hunter might be able to help you out with this one

my wifes laptop is on vista but i download everything on here then use a usb stick to transfer download on to hers

Hi Jimmy, I dont think that your anti virus is the problem, but if you do download AVG, you will need to uninstall nortons first or you will have a conflict with programs. I use vista and use CA security suite which after using nortons for many years find it a better product, Nortons slowed down pc too much. AVG is a great free choice though.

hi jimmy you can go on Norton Removal Tool 2010.0.0.92 - V3.co.uk - formerly vnunet.com will remove all your norton off your pc,then go to Download AVG Free Edition 9.0.707 - FileHippo.com and download avg m8. hope this helps

ok, thanks all for youre advise. its all good now. i uninstalled previous security software, and installed free AVG software. removed cookies etc.. and my lappie is running better than ever...
