Tech Phone Question

We seem to have quite a few techies on here outside the poker area so I thought this would be a good place to ask this question.

I just got a new HTC Droid Sensation this weekend and I notice there are 5 Home Screens. Other than the default the others are actively running programs. Is there a way to reduce the number of home screens to conserve processing power and battery life?

I have deleted the applet that was running on one, that cleared it for storage of icons, like creating a sub-directory or group, and that is fine, but if I do that with all of them I will have three empty screens. Not a big deal but just wondering if there is a way to remove these empty screens.

Also on these screens is there a setting that tells the page if it should open the applet or leave it as an icon?

Thanks it all helps, as does the 191 page user manual I found at HTC (phone came with a set up guide only).

I've got an HTC Wildfire...... i just pass it to my daughter when i have a problem or can't find anything on it, works wonders and saves having to read that bloody gert big manual too!!!!
I can work the camera tho with no probs...but still call the wrong number when phoning!!! pmsl

ok, for any real help,,,,, i'm an apple guy so , while i know some,, i'm less computer savoy than it may seem. or maybe it looks like it is,, but anyway,, with an apple ipod..(i use) or phone,,, u can (legally) break em' so i have all my letters are coustum,my light disply dims as i set it, all kinds of cool stuff ,,my backgrounds are all black and pink,,,yes u can pick ur own,, android i dont know much about excect ,buddy O' mine good,comp guy says adroids are great, its mostly about the script,,and running it on other than designed for devices,,,google youtube,,and seach outside of google for good hook ups...i had trouble doing a free text/phone with my adriod buddy,,but we figured it out,,, adroid was probably a very good investment !!! ,, have fun...
