Default Temp Files, Cookies, Cache and Pop-Up Blockers - How To

Pop Up Blocker

Depending on the system and browser you are using how you access the pop-up blocker may vary. In dealing with specifically Windows XP and Internet Explorer you can access the pop-up blocker through Tools, Internet Options, Privacy and at the bottom is the section to adjust the pop-up blocker.

Make sure you have, or add the following links:

onlinepoker66.com
play.onlinepoker66.com
game.onlinepoker66.com
admin.instantservice.com
instantservice.com
client11.addonchat.com
addonchat.com

Also if it is not set so, select "Show Information Bar When Pop-up Blocked". This will display an information bar that will allow you to add a new item to the allowed list if it is blocked.

EDIT - If the Filter Level is set to high, then pop ups will still be blocked, even those on the allowed sites list.
It needs to be set to medium for the system to allow pop ups from the allowed sites list. - Thanks to Fozzy for the clarification.

Credit to AusAngel for the above segment

Clearing Temp Files and Cookies

Remember to have all browser and chat programs closed when you do this, or if you must be in a browser when you do this, be on your home page and not logged in otherwise the active cookies and cache files will not be deleted as they are locked open.

Windows Control Panel - delete Temporary Internet Files:

Click the Windows Start menu.
Select Control Panel.
Select Internet Options.
Select the General tab.
In the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files button.
Do not check the clear Offline Content box. Click Ok.

Internet Explorer - delete Temporary Internet Files:

Open Internet Explorer.
Select the Tools menu.
Select Internet Options.
Select the General tab.
In the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files button.
Do not check the clear Offline Content box. Click Ok.
Click Ok to close the Tools window.

FireFox (Mozilla) - clear browser cache

Open FireFox (Mozilla).
Click the Tools menu.
Click Options.
Click Privacy.
Click the Clear button for Cache.

AOL - clear browser cache:

AOL 9.0

Click Settings.
Select the Index tab, and click Internet [Web] Options.
Under Browsing History, where it says to Delete temporary files, cookies, saved passwords, and web form information, click Delete.
Wait while the files are deleted, then click OK.

AOL 7.0

In Keyword, enter: PREFERENCES. Or, on the Settings menu on the AOL toolbar, click Preferences.
In the Organization section of the Preferences window, click Internet Properties (WWW).
In the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Files.
Click OK.

Netscape - clear browser cache

Open Netscape.
Click the Edit menu.
Click Preferences.
Click Advanced. It expands to show a list of options.

The pop up blocker settings are not quite complete. If the Filter Level is set to high, then pop ups will still be blocked, even those on the allowed sites list.

It needs to be set to medium for the system to allow pop ups from the allowed sites list.

Clicking the offline content will just help clean up your system. It won't affect data and programs on your computer and it won't stop you going to any website you wish.

for the past 24 hours i have been unable to get into the op66 site to play poker..
when i get to the homepage and click on "Click here to Play Poker" tab, i get timed-out every single time..
I have uninstalled flash player and java, and also allowed pop-ups for this site..

please can you tell me if this is a problem currently being encountered by everyone else, if not can you suggest remedial action for me...it is really frustrating as i cannot play on this site, which i much prefer to all other poker sites...

p.s i've tried the steps on your technical forum, (pop-up blocker, filters etc) and i still cant get in....thru firefox or internet explorer!!!!

many thanks keithbroadford...table name nando21..

well i had a small freezing on hetmans at start and i lost quite a bit through blinds, infact went down to 100 bucks. The poker gods seem to shine and i had beautiful cards 3 times on trot. anyway it seems alot lot smoother and I finished 4th. I have also been playing all arvo with no problems, which is a first. so touch wood i think towering texans advice about adding thos urls has worked. So a big thanks for ur help and i look forward to being able to play and meeting more great peeps.. cheers guys n gals for ur help.

sincerely

Chris

Arrrrr, After being delighted with the tips and seeming results hence above post, my pc has decedid to take disruptions and spurious behaviour to new levels.

After starting a freerole and playing the first hand (very very slowly) Second hand starts and i can hear the cards being dealt, yet im still showing the first hand. Unable to do anything the various poker66 windows i have open start flashing or going completely white. This whiteness extends to my desktop screensaver etc. The only solution is to log off and reboot enitre system again.

Any suggestions greaty appreciated.

sincerely

Chris

I So dont want to give up playing here but what can I do. Tried for an hour and a half this morning to get in. I can can get into forum but as soon as I click poker my whole pc locks up. It is a brand new pc with very hi speed internet connections. I have never had a problem with any poker site or site for that matter.
Desperately frustrated.

sincerely

I give up ive tried evrything but it seems the free part of the site doesnt matter too much. registered for hetmans after 2 hours of trying then it wont let me play and crashes my pc every time. my pc now seems riddled with spurious messages etc sionce i joined.. absolutley gutted. i can do no more have to find sumwhere elses to play.
If it matters all of my pals that play cash games ALWAYS try the free play first on new sites to gauge what its like and to ensure its safe. Therefore if new members like me have countless problems, why would they play cash games. Anyway i have tried absolutley evrything and it just ends up me screaming at the pc.

Really gutted.

It was fun whilst it lasted i will have to find somewhere else to play

thanks and bye.

sincerely

Chris

Chris I am worried that PC may have a virus/trojan or spyware, it may help to do some scans and see what comes up.

There are some good programs like adaware listed here in tech forum.

right, i found out that my windows beta 8 was conflicting with my antivirus software which was causing problems. Now i have removed it and also taken off java. Taking off java means i cannot activate lobby chat but so far so good, played for a whole 30 mins this morning with no probs.
Maybe its sorted now i dont no. I still get multiple windows open when i open 66 but as long as i can play i can live iwth evrything else.
anyway this windows beta8 thing might be worth others looking into also.

cheers

sincerely

chris
