As far as I am concerned...I have had no problems and no warnings such as the one that you list...what program is giving you this warning?

What are your security settings set at? I would recommend running a full antivirus scan and also a Adaware scan or such. Let me know how this goes?

Some Members have reported problems with the ads...my advice dont click on them unless you really want to...as you would on any other site on the internet

Is it me or this site....I had no problems going to the tables, but has actually took me 48 mins. to get here...All jokes aside, I'm aggarvated. My page won't load up either. With me bein' able to go anywhere else in a zip, it can't be my server, right? Gettin' here was worse than havin' dial-up 10 yrs ago!!! Whatever the problem is I hope someone has a suggestion for me other than takin' a hammer to this blasted machine. Plus I hope I can get some answers before tommorrow.....it might take me that long to get this loaded again. No kiddin'.....
xxscxx

I hope it let's me post.....

ok I'll add my testimonial...

while i have not gotten any warnings about this being an unsafe site.. i have definitely noticed some sort of problem happening to my 'puter since these ads have arrived... seemingly similar to what SCGirl is experiencing.

I can say without a doubt that it IS this site that is causing it because on one of my 'puters, OP66 is ALL i do with it.... and while it is an old Mac, and i have had problems with it in the past,... it is NOTHING compared with what is happening now:

regularly getting booted from games;
EXTREMELY slow start-ups for lobby, forum, and tables;
FREEZES... either doing nothing but viewing a page, or sometimes when opening a new one ;

and lately ( last 2 days )... total shut downs... i actually have gotten the 'blue screen of death' now twice!! .. and that AINT supposed to happen on a Mac...

most worrying to me tho, is suddenly i am getting notices that my internal memory is full!! i have no other programs on this other than skype and OP ( which is not a download ) .. so WHAT , i wonder, has been suddenly and recently filling up my harddrive space?.... ( and i have done all the maintenance /cleaning/clearing possible ).

my other computer is a nearly new and hardly used IMac.. very nice one too... and i have started to experience similar problems with slowness and freezing there as well...beginning (..coincidentally..? ) about the same time as these ads arrived and the issues on my pokerMac started.

Im certainly no techno-whiz.. but i AM smart enough to see a common thread and source.. and it is OP66...

im sorry but this does not bode well for the future of our site...i cant imagine most people would want to risk the health of their electronics and the security of their household ( not to mention the apparent invasion of privacy mentioned above ) just to play poker....

That's a good idea, put all our problems, such as this in one place....Maybe just maybe someone will see we're havin' problems here....Not holdin my breathe in fear of dyin' but got fingers crossed. This is like my mornin' paper, but unfortunately while I do have a little time in the mornins', I don't have time for everything to load up....

OH yeah, as president LoL, I wish to elect gettin' all those advertisement off here. If we are interestin' we can google ourselves. xxscxx

ok i might be wrong but im sure i read or heard...its been agreed that internet service providers to allow companies to monitor lnternet usage to the extent they can monitor what type of web sites you visit, and then be able to push through ads that might be releven sites you have recently visited.

has anyone notice when you go to say google, facebook or bbc or msn there are ads quite similar to things you may have been searching previously?

anyhow, basically what happens is when you visit a site/web page that site/page will therefore be flooded with ads relevent to previous sites you may have visited.

there are a few things you can do to limit this; contact you isp and see what their policy is on monitoring internet behaviour usage. manage your AVP to filter out ads, or get a tool that blocks ads.

i cannot stress how important it is to have a good spyware tool/blocker. antivirus tools are good removing viruses etc but i'd rather prevent than remove.

if you're concerned about internet security i will be more than happy to help you get secure. just pm me!

however, if this is an issue with the site it'll be for the mods to sort out.

For now the ads have been removed until Lava finds a better setup...and replaced with the current list of tournament winners.
