Your 2010 poker goals

One of the goals I set myself was to try and go from $0 to $500 by the end of the year without making a deposit. A few people said they would also like to try and do the same and to see who could achieve it first.

If anyone wants to join in, just for a bit of fun, no prizes etc then post on this thread and we can keep track of how we all go. So if your interested post how much you currently have in your account, then updated this thread whenever you want to.

All I ask is that people are honest and treat if as a 'fun' competition. Whatever the outcome I am treating it firstly as one of my own personal goals for 2010. The rules I have set for myself are simple.....I have to do it without making a deposit but I can use whatever options the site provides, e.g. entering tourneys with 'Poker Points', selling bullets in the RPG, using Outlaw Tourney tickets to play Outlaws Tourneys. I have until midnight on 31/12/10 to try and do it.

$500 might not sound like a lot but I think it may be harder than a lot of people think. Just as matter of interest Pro player Chris Ferguson set himself an online challenge to go from $0 to $10,000 playing on one well know site. He set himself strict bankroll management rules that he had to play by. It took him 7 months to get to his balance to stabilize at $6.50, then he entered a $1 tourney and won a $104. But it took him another 9 months to break through the $10K barrier. Great story, very interesting.

So $500 for a recreational player of my limited ability should be a huge challenge, but that's the whole point.

Good luck to anyone else you want's to take up the challenge.

OK as of today, 03.01.10 I have a balance of $0.09
i will try it m8 i at .05

My update, now at $5.42

Lot's of ups and downs so I figured I'd post now before it goes down again LOL.

By the way Simon, I tried to find the price of a sausage but it's not listed in the Financial Times, nor the ASX or the Wall Street Journal. I did extensive searches on the Net, went to see a financial advisor, a stockbroker and contacted my local MP, but still couldn't get anything conclusive.

As a last resort the wife suggested I popped down to the local supermarket LOL. They have some funny ideas sometimes eh?

Well just to humor her I did and blow me they had some. With the price on too!!!!

But wait, it's not quite that simple. As it turns out there are several different types. (Yea I was surprised too. I always thought there were only two types, cooked and uncooked) Anyway, unfortunately without knowing which particular type of sausage you need to know the price of I don't think I'm going to be able to answer your question mate.

Sorry.

Ok I will join the fun. I put in 50 dollars and entered into a $30 tourney this afternoon and wound up 2nd with 800 dollars! Never won so much in my life! Let's see if I can build this balance up and not lose it at the end of the year.

Wow! Great! How many people in the tourney? How long did it take? How was the standard of play? Did you find it hard work to get that far or did you find you could out play the others easily?

Just so we know for when we get the bankrol to play the $30!

Update...

Start - £8
Week 1 - £104 (here's how...My Good Week)
Week 2 - £112

* spent $8 on bullets

This week not as good as last, but still going in the right direction.
Have had bad luck on the $5 sin and go's, placing in 4 out of 9 so a net loss.
Placed in nearly every $1 sit n go though, and placed in both the $3 sit n go's I played.
Still no ring tables, I want a bigger bankroll first.
