Default New $500 Added Tournie

Though I'd start a thread regarding the new promotion on OP66 (Current Info on cash promotions [Link]) so we could discuss it and hopefully get some entrants.
One tournament on a Saturday 20.30 EST (1.30am UK) and the other on a Tuesday 14.30 EST (7.30pm UK).
Both are 50 cents with unlimited rebuys and one add on.
I don't usually like the rebuy tournaments but depending on the number of entrants this could be too good too miss. Especially as it's new so there maybe fewer players.

Post on here if you fancy entering, I'm definately game for the Tuesday one but will be tucked up in bed for the Saturday event.

Good Luck.

I have had my 2 biggest wins on re-buys so I'm obviously quite keen on them. Had a $400 win from a $2 re-buy ($6.20 total) and a $940ish win from $5 re-buy ($10.50 total). The one on Saturday is too late for me, but I'm defo up for the one on Tuesday. thanks for pointing them out, would be great to see some op66ers playing.

That's excellent Jim.
Perhaps you could give a few tips.
Do you just play your normal game or more aggressively at the beginning knowing you can rebuy?

I normally enter at around the 30 minute mark, play tighter than I would normally. then just wait for a really good hand, play trappy and hope it wins, normally you can treb'/quad up when you finally hit coz alot of players play very loose in re-buys. then if you're around 3/4/5 times starting stack, just use the time-bank every time, right down to zero, so you can conserve your stack till the break. then add-on at the break, and play your normal game after the break.
I always use this strategy every time I play a re-buy, and finish in the money at least 30% of the time I'd say.

EDIT >> I'd just like to add, this strategy can't always be used, some re-buys are turbos where the blinds go to 2000/4000 just before the break.

I've just had a look at the next 500 gtd on saturday, there are only 22 reg'd but the pool is up to $511. the pool should be at $500 until buy-ins/re-buys/add-ons get to more than $500. Looks like I'll be staying up late after all for this, the prize pool could be huge if this isn't corrected!!!!! WOOP WOOP!!!!!!!!

OMG, the on on tuesday is the same!! (mods keep shtum please)

no corrections needed stjimmy.....
to my knowledge, it is not a $500 gtd....it is a $500 ADDED tourny....meaning $0.50 per entry, re-buy, and add on.....with $500 added by the site....see ya there!!!!

i'm in! Let u know how it goes. Agree with Jims strat except for the waiting period. Blinds are low and good chance to double up if u have a good hand. What's the difference waiting outside or on the table at least you have a chance to play a great hand.

Just came fourth in the $250 GTD and play same rules as st jimmy except I like to take off as soon as the flag drops.

Good point about starting from the beginning, but when I start from the beginning, I often go with a good hand and get donked by some gump who's playing loose `cause it's a re-buy
Another reason I use my time bank is it winds other players up, makes them play more loosely
Good luck tonight Rad

Entrants > 196
Rebuys > 446
Addons > 126
Top 40 paid from $5 - $190
So You can see why I don't join these until 30 minutes in.
On Tuesday I'm gonna set myself a limit of 10 rebuys. But as soon as I'm on table gonna rebuy to double my stack to 3k. And every time I rebuy, gonna make it a buck rebuy so I get back to 3k.

Well done you 3. A guy on my table was shoving all in every time except for 3 hands, one of those times he folded I had KK. Just before the break I had JJ vs his 1010. we were both all-in he hit his 10. so I only had 4k after the break. Only lost $2.55 so not bad. Again well done you 3!!!
