Default Satelite to $2500

Just played in this tourney. A rebuy tourney $1 for 1000 chips and 50c for 500 chips. I finished 6th. I knew it was a rebuy tourney, but I reckoned the amount of rebuys would be limited. Just checked, there were 39 players and 112 rebuys. At the final table 4 players must have made 10 rebuys each and hoped to hit to get their chip stack up. Finally two did and finished ahead of me. This isn't poker but pure BINGO. Was enjoying the game up to this point, but....I won't be playing this tourney again and I'd recommend avoiding it

To the best of my knowledge, any tourney with rebuys, there is no limit to the number of times you can rebuy, only the timeframe ( usually up until the first break ).

I would suggest you avoid all rebuy tournaments and just play freezeouts if you do not like the format.

Many players who are prepared to rebuy play much more loosely during the rebuy period and you can use that to your advantage. The other bonus from a rebuy tourney is that you tend to get a bigger pot relative to the initial buy-in ( obviously not in a satellite ), you pays your money and take your chances.

I have done quite well in rebuys.
and I always use a set of tactics.
I normally register about 15 minutes before the break.
I always rebuy straight away to get maximum stack possible.
Wait for a half decent hand, then shove with that hand.
Then aim for 10k+ stack.
Then unless I get a premium hand just fold, but always use the time bank, let it run out every time.
I would say I finish in the money about %50 of the time using these tactics, and normally make 3-5 rebuys and 1 add-on.
my bigest win was in a $2 re-buy. I made 1 re-buy and 1 add-on total $6.20 and won $400.
