Default pocket pairs

are double pocket pairs considered a good starting hand? should you call, raise or fold? i had rainbow jacks & fives, called a 10+ blind with them.... and lost all my chippies. lol tks, dddammo

I think you had 5 diamonds and 5 hearts, pocket pairs dont mean you will win a hand if that is what you saying....

depends on the pocket pairs with me. JJ or 10 10 I will either limp in, depending on the players at the table or go all in to wittle the players down. All in and normally most will fold so it raises your chances of winning or in my case not. Going tilt is always taking a huge gamble.

i think it's probably not such a strong starting hand with weak double pairs, rainbowed and that i was a donkey to call a 10+ blind preflop. the best i could have got is a set, not likely quads and if the board pairs maybe a fullhouse. ????? it's all in the cards i suppose ??? HEEHAW!!! lol
tks, ddd )))

I'm not an omaha player, but I would assume that two pocket pairs, double suited would be the equivilent to a good pocket pair in hold'em.

I'm not sure on it, But that's what Id assume.

Id have to assume that AAKK double suited and AKQJ double suited would both be the eqivent to AA or AK in hold em
Just remember you wouldnt play 55 in holdem, well you wouldnt risk much with it, so play small pocket pairs only if they have strong back up, like AA AK or KK to go with it

Hope this helps

TB1rd - you are pretty much right as only two of you holding cards count in Omaha then the highest pocket pair is the most relevant although holdin two pairs obviously increases the chance of trips and then a FH depending on the board

Yes you only have four outs, because there are only 4 cards that you can hit to make a hand.

However if you had AKAK doouble suited you've got ...um...bloody loads lol because think you can hit full house, sets, quads straight and two different possible flushes.

And i dont know the exact odds, but the chance of you making a set or quads on the flop are very very slim, so the J 5 pockets unsuited are very poor unless the board stays below a jack, but even then you run the risk of a lower set ... jeez I hate omaha lmao

aa and kk is the best opening hand you can get in omaha.........if you are dealt quads even aaaa then fold as this hand is a loser as you have no outs pair is the best you can get..........goodluck.
