Starting Hands

Are the traditional starting hands in Texas Hold Em the best starting hands in Omaha? I've been playing a Omaha more and more still trying to determine which hands are strongest starting hands.

i think hold em is stronger.

No idea, i know that 2 aces and AK suited in holdem are strongest, but omaha is very weird.

I've always gone with the thinkng that if you have sy AK suited and 56 suited different you have such a large choice of outs. This may not be the best stated starting hand but seems to work for me.

statistically AA is the best hand but lately the low pairs have been winning them over.. this usually happens with me

in omaha you never now iff you have the best hand thats whats so great about it. just with a flop you now a little bit more you can lose a lot with AA in hand so 4 me its not the same see y later m8

For some reason Pocket Aces get u in trouble the most!

I try to read the different combinations possible with my 4 cards:

- Is there a pair? How strong?

- Are there possibilites with for one or two flushes, at what height?

- For str8's?

If I feel combinations are worth it then I call for the flop (or sometimes raise if the combinations look very promising). Otherwise I don't.

Careful if you have 3 same cards, then you know odds for getting another one of the same are low.
