confused: different stats when challenged??

so went to make a challenge, looked at opponent's stats and compared with mine.. looked good, so i launched the challenge.
came back as a loser to the challenge, but noticed that in the summary of the challnge, my opponent's stats were MUCH higher than when the challenge was launched.
