Aussie op66 party poll

I have been speaking with Bobble and it seems he has done a lot of work already towards getting this thing off the ground. Here is what we have come to so far:

Would be looking at being held between late September and early October and Jupiter's on the Gold Coast. Accommodation is available at several nearby locations and the weather is extremely good at that time of year there.

We are proposing that the party be held here at around this time and at this stage are only looking at who would be attend if this was the case. If there is enough interest then all the smaller details would be attended to and posted here.

** Anything that is organized will be posted here so that nothing is done that you will not be aware of.

*** If anyone has any problems with Bobble and Myself taking this step to get this going, Dont hesitate to contact myself in PM to express your thoughts. I dont want this thread to become an argument, rather an information board to help keep everybody up to date with progress.

Great idea, want to be there but money is tight at the moment. Might be OK by then but if I vote 'yes' now I might let you down. If I do come it will be 2 of us, Stuzi and myself. Good work guys, plz keep us posted.

Its a possibility...as school holidays in September here in Melbourne....but cannot commit as yet

Had to vote no sorry. Would love to go, but we have our second child due around that time so time may be a worry. Unless its closer to Canberra lol.
If this does go ahead my tip would be for the organiser would be, look out for AFL and NRL grand final weekends aswell as Bathurst....
But will use all my brownie points to atleast try to get there..

UPDATE

Bobble has done some work and managed to get some costings for the night as Jupiter's.

$86 per personis will cover room hire, Buffet and all beer/wine/softdrinks.

$96 per personis would cover room hire, Buffet and all beer/wine/softdrinks and spirits.

Nolakay has done some research into accommodation both in and around Jupiter's. The average price is around $100-$120 per night, however a lot of these are small apartments and it could be quite feasible to share a 2-bedroom unit to cut costs.

At the moment we are looking at the 10th of October, the 17th of October or the 14th of November.
