Sounds like we've got quite a few Florida people on here. I'm good with anywhere and willing to help with planning or whatever. With the economy the way it is, hotels almost anywhere are pretty cheap and they are anxious to fill them. Maybe someone can put up a poll to see who all is interested, time of year, and destination?

I think we need to get an idea of who all is coming and from where before decide on an exact locale. All is good for me. Plane trip costs me the same wherever I go.

I suggested Kansas a while back because that is right in the middle of the continental US but it got shot down real quick because, well it's Kansas (no offense). It looks like the majority of American players are from Florida, and it might be easier to set it up there. I think that I will probably starting the fall semester on August 24, so anytime from June 23 to August 23 is good for me.

Seems to me that there are a lot of different times and places floating around in this thread. What should be done (not by me) is that ONE person find out the best date(s) and another find out the best place(s) and move on from there. You are going to be running in circles if you don't, wasting time that could be spent on organizing the North American OP66 Party.

I wish I could make it, but realistically it isn't going to happen.

There was a suggestion, however, that one person should take it upon themselves to fix a date and another person should take care of the location. Then say when and where, and find out who can make it.

Mr. Bassmaster is absolutely right. Several people have started this thread and we did run around in circles. May I suggest closing this thread or adding a poll for the state it should be done in. We can move on from there.

Not sure what works best for me as far as time goes but I live in Washinton so any place that is not to long of a distance would be ideal. Vegas would be great. Yup someone needs to take the lead on this.

I agree...too many dates and places.


godblessiraq and I have been pm'ing each other about this and have agreed to take charge of all arrangements needed provided that everyone is comfortable with this. Anyone else that wants to help is more than welcome....especially if its decided in a state neither one of us is familiar with.

Seeing as we both live in Florida, I can see how it would make more sense for us to have it here, but want to make it as easy as possible for everyone. We kind of wanted it as a vacation for ourselves as well and get out of Florida, but I'm sure if that's what the majority decides, we'll have no problem having it here. Accommodations will be easy since I have plenty of friends that live here that would be willing to help out as I'm sure he does as well.

I will discuss with him which part he wants to deal with (time or place) and then we will each start new threads with polls to determine where and when.

i would like to make a comment.....i've read that people want to go to the midwest...Kansas City has gambling. Let's go there. it is easy for all to get there and relatively cheap...consider dates towards the end of the summer so we don't freeze though. I live in Florida...so if people want to come to florida be prepared... it is expensive. and the gambling is only on indian reservations and at the dog tracks

I agree, some places here are expensive, just depends on where and when you go. I live about 30 minutes north of you (Saint Petersburg), and it's fairly cheap for motels unless you are right on the beach. Plus, the Hard Rock Casino is only 30 minutes away. Chuckster and I have both agreed that if it were here, we would be willing to let people stay at our houses.

I have a comment as well. Has it been determined that if it is held in Florida it is to be held near Tampa? We have a Hard Rock here near Hollywood too. Close to Miami. etc. Just a thought.

For the record though, it was never decided what city if it were to be held in Florida, that part would have came later.

I never realized there were so many of us in Florida......
