Scottish weekend dates and hotel details

weekend of Friday 27th - Sunday 29th November

After 2 days checking out almost every hotel in Glasgow city centre, i have chosen the one i feel most suitable in terms of price and location. The hotel i think would be best is

The Ibis Hotel

Hotel GLASGOW Ibis Glasgow City Centre: hotel reservation in GLASGOW

It is located right in the middle of the town centre about 5 mins walk from Glasgow central station. Prices are £59 for Sat night only, per room or £96.10 for Fri & Sat night, per room (great value if sharing a room) An optional breakfast is available for £5.50.

Note: Unfortunately these prices are only available if booking on-line

If booking by phone or in person on the day the price is still £59 for Sat but £112 for both nights

I apologise if this is not suitable for anyone, but i had to go with the hotel i felt best.

Anyways have a look on the website and let me know, what you all think.

Thanks Tony, Can you confirm that there is a facility for playing poker and if so would that be on the Friday night ?

Jockney, unfortunately it doesnt but i am trying to arrange a function room in a nearby pub for those who wish to have a game.

I apolgise for this m8, i think i just got fed up running around glasgow for last 2 days towards the end all i was asking about was prices oops. Trust me I will get a room arranged though....sorry again for the inconvience

It doesn't have to be 'off' It originally started off as a night out and meeting up, it seems to have evolved into something more complicated. We have the weekend decided - 27th - 29th November, in Glasgow. If people still wanna do this then there's no reason why any one person has to be the organiser, the only one thing we need is a meeting place and time. Maybe the players in Glasgow could help with this?

Not an ideal weekend for me as my step daughter will be 18 that weekend, but I could possibly pop down for a couple of hours after work on the Friday as I work in Glasgow city centre. I can also help with selecting the venue if people advise what kind of environment they are looking for.

Unfortunately i've only been back in Scotland for approx a year now..after living in England for 18 years... Wish i could help with the choice of meeting place but i don;t know anywhere anymore.. lol too old now..
Hopefully jockney may be able to help if he works in Glasgow...I'm sure we just would like a place to meet and say hi to each other...i shall try and see if any of my lot know the right place to be and post accordingly..
I will only be able to make it on the Sat as Fri i become an official old fart hehe

Errrrrmmmmmmm. Ok guys n gals. Tyneside is nearly in Scotland. Close enough for our friends North of the border to make it, and closer than Glasgow for every one comin from down in the south. I know a bloke who runs a biker bar/hotel with a separate function room in Whitley Bay. I can make enquiries about number of rooms and cost and the price of the function room. There's also plenty of hotels and guest houses on the same street to accommodate any overflow.

I could also arrange live music and/or a dj at a bit extra cost. I might be able to talk him into giving us the function room for free if we can book the hotel out.

Any one who's interested in this as an alternative destination pm me and start messaging it about to others who might be interested asap.
