OK, I don't wanna stick a spanner in the works but is there a reason why there wasnt a poll for the location for the next UK party for ALL members of OP66?
After all it would have been less hassle and less expensive for Sally and I to hold the first one in Liverpool but we respected the majority vote (albeit by one vote lol)

i agree hun...although i dont know where sarf is without taking anything away from hands, as he is prepared to do this, i do think a poll should have been done to keep everything fair...its the only way really...

Hi all

Ok i found hotel/guest house for the party.

This place is under new MANAGEMENT for the last 6 weeks .

All report's bout bad things was down to last manager's tht behaved bad and run the

place down .

I had a gd peak around / stayed there myself an had a chat wiv staff .

It's clean an basic , but it's all we need i think .

As well it's the only one tht accepted my offer/ deal .

We will have the HOLE place for us to use - there will be no other ppl

in there .

The deal is as follow.......

It's £ 20 pppn including breakfast , plus £7 pp for the buffee on sat. no other charge

except the DJ witch i haven't found jet .

All bookings have to go through me to get the discount , tht way they dealing only

wiv 1 person who is in charge an knows what's going on , any other bookings u have

to pay there rate if there is room.

Other thing is we have 2 get most room's booked other wise there will be a charge

of £ 5 pp extra pppn ( still a gd deal ) .

As room's ( singel/doubble/ twin un- suited ) are limeted i have to go by 1st come's

1st get's base . There are other hotel's near by but they coast more ( doubble )

and i have no say into anything .

The deposit in £ 20 pp ( no refund ) as part of the condition .

I will PM later all tht sayed they come wiv excat details how to pay there deposit .

As for now i will take a short break as i have alot of work myself but will check my

PM and note all tht book anything .

So i hope u all will be happy with it all and hear frm u soon .

if it was held in the north of england i wud be there
but birmingham might be up north to some as the last one was but it is a four hour journey for me
the i deal site would be witton castle in co.durham where they are used to holding big events.plus it is a camp/caravan site and thay can provide a beer tent.plus it has some fantastic sites walks and non poker activities.

i agree master. The idea of having the OP parties in the first instance WAS to move them around the country so all could attend, and also to have a poll for each one to keep it fair...unfortunately, that duznt seem to be happenning. i can only feel sorry for anyone that couldnt get to birmingham last time, and will not be able to attend again

I'm disappointed by the lack of response to my question about why there wasn't a poll for the location of the next get-together.

I for one would hope to see a different location chosen for any future events.

Hands, from experience, many people won't decide whether to go until the last minute so please take this into account during your organisation.

as u now it's lot of work an time tht has to b put in,i dono how many hrs ,6 trips to birmingham on my days of witch r only 2 together in 2 wks and i have done this all on my own .

as for ur doing 1 up north it's up 2 u i only ask tht this may not b near my dates or better next year
as i would like 2 come there as wel if pos.

and 2 many party's 2 close on dates together will spoil all .

as 4 the us i there date was not fixed when i started
