i'm not sure on the answer to the question, but its not a question of being punished, its what the system can currently take.

as we all no the plan was to run the 2 scrips side by side for 1 month so everyone could be accomadated, unfortunatly this was taken out of our hands by pitbull blocking our entry.

everything is being done to bring the no download version in as quick as possibe and accomadate all.
but some things need more time

thanks for the reponse, TBH. yes, we do understand what you say about the original plan and how you are bringing it to us as fast as you can now.
and honestly, although it sucks for the Mac users, i can understand wanting to get people in as fast as possible, even if that means some having to wait.

However,
Some would argue, tho, that at least the site should put the toplists, points, and medals on hold until the ENTIRE site has fair access. Otherwise, you are in fact, discriminating against the Mac users in this community by not only restricting their access, but essentially handicapping them on these competitive rosters by however many days it takes for the Flash version to be added.
Let those that can get in play and enjoy the fact that there are here, but I propose for the sake of the community and solidarity that you suspend the competitions until such time as we can ALL meet there and compete fairly.

Download version is much, much better, i dont see a reason why play no download version when you can play download (only if you play at work, or in your mother in law house, lol)

For the ones on mac : I will really push pressure to have flash version as soon as possible and if you need any help installing a windows emulator just to try the room I'm sure we can handle that.

For the ones who does not want to use a download : If your concern is privacy you could try to install the files on an USB key and avoid using a desktop icon or any shortcut to the game. I have made some tests but not yet enough to confirm you would have a portable version like that, I will confirm soon.

I have never asked for having the download version sooner than flash no download one and still consider no download is a must for the site.

thank you for the options and reassurance for us flash users.
I stated earlier that I , at least, can understand the need and desire to get the site up and running to satisfy as many people as possible as quickly as possible. I am in no way resentful that others are getting in while some have to wait... yes, jealous, but meh... no big deal.

My MAIN point , however, is about the competitiveness and solidarity of the community here. I know it's a relatively small point, but,, as you said yourself, "no download is a must for the site". There are many people, NOT just Mac users, who either need or choose to use the flash version. I remember a thread long ago here about 'what brought you to OP66?' and an overwhelming response was that it was the first and best NO DOWNLOAD poker site that we had found. This tells us that this option is a HIGH priority for the users here.

The toplists for points, medals and chips are also one of the things about this site that have grown in importance and,, in a way,, help keep this community thriving, in my opinion. With such an important changeover, and people's emotions riding high, i truly believe it would be a disservice to allow these lists to continue before EVERYONE has equal opportunity to play.
Personally, i have worked very hard to get to where i am on those lists, and sacrifice alot to make sure i am here EVERY NIGHT to play and have a chance to advance on them, I'm sure I'm not alone in this. Letting those lists be active before we all have a chance to play puts a serious handicap on those that cannot get in.

I IMPLORE YOU,, PLEEEEZE keep them turned off until such time as we can ALL be together 'on the other side' and compete on an equal field.


for those that think i am merely 'sour grapes'... I possess BOTH mac and pc and will be downloading tomorrow with the rest of you.
My intention is strictly in the interest of fairness to all players.

personally, i will not play in any OP66 tourney ( if the lists are activated tomorrow along with the site ) until such time as we ALL can compete. I urge all of you to consider the same in solidarity with those left out.

yes it's a bit unfair but I won't block the fun for x more days because 10% of players could lose a few toplists points, that would be fair but a bit egoistic (mac users are 3% and I would say the ones who really don't want to use a download or can't about 7%).
As the only unfair thing I see is the points/medals I'm sure everyone would be ok if we add a fair amount of points to players who can't play.

Trust me I'm trying to have flash version up ASAP and every coding here aim to target everyone

I will push pressure to have a download version for macs too, I agree it's a pain to use a mac nowadays and I'm sure things will change one day or another.

there is unlimited reloads to 1k on the new script, not so sure because of that the converter is neccesary

I'd be very grateful as I have been waiting anxiously to play again and would be devastated to find that it's going to be another week, when that might not be necessary. I don't have any reason NOT to download, except that I am not sure how to go about it. Thanks for any help. I look forward to reading back. And would be delighted to see all the old m8s on the tables this afternoon, Irish time.

hmmmm you're right, OTHERS have expressed that differing opinion and i am not presuming to speak for them, only myself.
however, the example you have shown only illustrates my point tho, and illuminates a disparity in the admin here:
Why was it, then, that the lists were eventually turned off when ALL could not play then,, but now they are being left on now?

you can only be playing if
a) your on the beta test
b) only download version available

or are you refering to playing pitbull and not OP66
