Default Tournament Set up Review - Expires Dec 15, 2010

In an attempt to standardize the tournaments throughout the year and try to avoid missing or changed setups at the beginning of the month we are posting this for input for ONE WEEK.

All tournaments are Server Time and that is defined as Eastern Standard Time, New York, USA. To check time differences so you can do the math check here: http://24timezones.com/

Below are a list of the repeating tournaments and the times, please review and if you want something different, reply here with the change suggestion and the reason and we will check to see if there is enough support for it. At the end I will summarize the suggested changes.

Outlaws - Daily 06:00, 12:00, 18:00, 24:00

Ultra Outlaws - Daily 05:00, 11:00, 17:00, 23:00

OP Hetmans - Daily 08:00

OP British Crown - Daily 14:00

OP NY Times - Daily 20:00

OP OZ Wombats - Daily 02:00

OP Mammoth - Saturdays 13:00

OP Ladies - Sundays 07:00

STL Tournament - Daily 16:00

Forum Calendar Event - Daily 04:00, 10:00, 16:00, 22:00

Mini Mammoth - Daily 06:00, 12:00, 18:00, 24:00

TiddlyW1nk Memorial - Saturdays 10:00

just echoing Kev , mini is the same time as ULTRA so there should be 4 versions of that corresponding to ultra and in the middle of the OP66 tourneys

Mini was not supposed to be same time as Ultra..it got changed by mistake by TM and yes there are four ..two hours before Big tourneys..a typo on that.

if the mini mammoth's were moved back an hour we would have tournaments more or less starting every hr

e.g

ultra outlaws 5pm

outlaws 6pm

mini mammoths moved from 6pm to 7pm

british crown 8pm

callender event 10pm

then starts again at 11pm with ultra again

just a thought

If these are UK times The STL tourney is always played in the evening and this change would finish it off as most that play, only play in the evenings.

EST does NOT stand for European Standard Time... it stands for Eastern Standard Time, which is in the same time zone as New York. And this would coincide with the start times of the tournies. All along, server time has been based on Eastern Standard Time (EST) and I would presume it is not changing... correct?

Jim, I also thought EST was Eastern Standard Time, but I was told by the tournament manager that it was European Standard, which happens to coincide with EST.

Weird but yes it is all based on that.

In this case, Tex, tourney manager is mistaken... if you google "European Standard Time", it will ultimately take you to Central Europe Time (CET) zone. Which is NOT the same as EST.

I know for CERTAIN that the server time has been based on EST (New York). Think about it... server time now says 1300 for British Crown, which is 1pm... and I believe it's playing at 6pm in the UK... 1pm is EST (New York).

OK fine, I just need a starting point, so if everyone is ok with setting Eastern Standard time as the base, so be it.

Now that we are done playing where is Waldo, Waldo is in New York City, USA. OK?

tex is the tidds memorial tourney a new tourney,or is it replacing the origanals tourney.
if it is can the origanals tourneys be made open to all for playing, giving everyone a new tourney to play each day

It is meant to replace originals, will not have a password, but only once a week, currently.
