Default An absolute disgrace

FIFA, the ruling body of Football have refused England the right to wear Poppies in the friendly against Spain, they say it is a political protest. The England team should refuse to play in the game.

I totally agree fred,
the FA should find some backbone & just go ahead and do it. what could FIFA do to stop it, fine them? there would be even more outrage then

alternately maybe could wear some type of poppy armband instead but really this shouldn't even be a discussion should it

If the Country they are playing dont mind and as Poppy day is for all veterans, why should FIFA poke their nose in.

On the same kind of topic but slightly off if that makes sense I am also disgusted in the latest spate of thefts that have been happening in the South where Brass name plaques are being stolen from war memorials. They should make both the thieves and buyers do a couple of years national service.

Agree Cuddy, nowadays they have no respect for other people or their belongings but to steal plaques from memorials is unforgivable, I'd chop off their dole and their hands.

I would still go ahead with it anyway, but just watch how low the f.a. stoop in compliance with there wishes. If we bow to them, then we are a bigger laughing stock. Steve.

According to FIFA kits must not contain anything religious, political or any personal statements.
Has far has i understand a poppy is none of them.
Grow a backbone the FA,get down the local DIY store, any buy a few tins of red an black spray,an paint the centre circle like a poppy, nothing in the rules, saying the grass has got to be green.

Maybe members of OP66 should take a similar stance on TOS that they don't agree with.

As a moderator, would you be so keen to encourage such behaviour on this forum over a breach of TOS that a majority disagreed with ???

What if someone famous associated with football died and they wanted to wear black armbands? I bet that would be allowed. It's a disgrace.

Maybe the fans could arrange to hold up coloured cards to make a giant poppy in the stands like they do for images at other events etc......along with a few more spelling out 'screw you FIFA'.........just a thought !

LOL this is very funny.
I'm laughing at it rather than with it though.
