| david beckham has been a great servant for england, but misses the next friendly against brazil, just like your thoughts on becks chances of making the world cup for england, must admit im on the fence,115 caps, great passer of the ball, free kick specialist, and loads of experience which always seems to give other players a lift, but is this enough to give him a place in the england world cup squad whats your view ![]()

| To old, over the hill, time to hang up the boots david. spend some more time with posh, then again i wont blame you for carrying on to keep out the house. ![]() he will make the squad for south africa,to add experiance an encouragement to the younger players, dont think he will start any games with the pace of lennon an wright phillips about.

| i dont see why not he can make a impact for 20/30 minutes a game. giving one of the younger people that have ran there socks off a little rest.

| Hmmmm I dont think hes over the hill and as you say tel, hes a great free kick specialist and crosser/passer/corner taker. What he might lose in speed or stamina he gives back with pride and passion. Even if he is used for a bit part, eg: substitute he may well turn a game in our favour. So there you have it and he wants it badly enough, so I say give it to him, hes been a great ambassador and servant to his country he wont let us down im sure of it. Steve. ![]()

| if fit and playing well he should make the squad, no longer a 1st choice but the type of player to come on a turn a game. in addition his chrisma and precence in the squad would also be a plus, especially to the young and inexperienced members of the squad |

| To be honest I think it would be crazy not to consider him. He may not play 9o mins of every game, but he still has plenty to offer. Capello is not daft and he knows Beckham well, I'm sure he will make the final squad. |
