Default Fifa World Player

So the "Ballon D'Or" is going to be determined in about 30 minutes.
Nominees are Xavi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi. I personally think Messi should get it for a 3rd year running. Honestly, this guy is pure class, scores goals, assists...Never ceases to amaze.

What are your thoughts, and who'd you think deserves it?

True....but Xavi is also the real brains of the Barca team. Can pick out some awesome through balls.
Funnily enough all 3 play in the spanish league

Only the 2nd (platini was the 1st) to win 3 consecutively.
As for the women, quite shocked Marta didnt win again...

And the best goal award was a joke too(neymar)...rooney's overhead kick goal was by far the best.

as for the Ballon D'Or, its a highly biased poll. if messi played in the prem he would never win

U mad lol? He single handedly "served" Arsenal in the champions league scoring 4 goals... Been decisive against Man U.
And why would he leave the best team in the world to go to the prem?

im not saying he isnt a deserving winner, also not saying he has any reason to leave barca. what i am saying is the current people that judge dont like the english and wont pick a player playing in the prem as the winner.

The people that judge are national captains, coaches aswell as journalists.
And if im not mistaken, C ronaldo won his ballon d'or whilst playing at Man U. It just seems that the current best players are playing in the spanish league.

Ballon d'Or - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

look at the list of winners, 03 and 99 are proof enough playing in england does your rating harm

If you look at the list, its fair to say that for pretty much every year the ballon d'or went to the player that stood out and played best in that particular year.

99 - Rivaldo played some of the best football i've seen him play
2003 - Nedved was at the peak of his career.

And like I previously said, ronaldo won it whilst playing at Man U, Owen won it, george best....etc, etc.

If Barca happened to be playing in the prem, messi would have still surely won it...

Messi is possibly the best player ever, consider his age and he's still not in his prime

As for the prem, I love it! But why would he want to play in it at the moment, considering he plays for the best team in the world and the two best teams (apparently ) in the prem didn't advance through the initial group stages in the Champions League and are now in the Europa league. Messi's not ready for Europa league footie....yet

Villa broke his leg (out till end of the season)
And true messi is important, but they can win just as well without him.
Sanchez, pedro, iniesta, fabregas....plenty of scoring talent

Yes messi is what makes barca that extra bit special...but a barca without messi would still leave them on the same level as top clubs like Man U (probly still slightly better with the likes of xavi and iniesta)

And thats just an "if" he wasnt playing....fact is he does play and will play for them for many years to come
