Default The Hurricane...R.I.P

One of the all time sporting greats has died at the age of 61.. Alex Hurricane Higgins, in many peoples eyes he was a villain a trouble maker and a pain in the back side. But to his army of fans he was a legend, a master cueman and a showman. He filled arena's wherever he went and there was something about him the people loved, hence he was known as the peoples champion..He was certainly mine and will be sadly missed by thousands, but his memory will live on and on.. There will never be another ALEX HURRICANE HIGGINS. Steve.

yeah, was the first "rockstar" cueman. was thrilling to watch at times, the first real snooker showman. shame he turned into a sour bitter lonely man...
r.i.p. alex hurricane higgins...

A legend that will be sorely missed. He was a master showman, and when on form a cueman to extreme. He was unique. R.I.P.

He was a regular in my bar, with his local bookies directly across.
Not a bitter man, just liked to keep himself to himself.
He will be sorely missed, my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Will always be a Legend

He will be listed among the greats alongside Puskas, Federer, Nicklaus, any many more, but none of them could spring the unexpected like Alex, a genius in his field, but such a sad figure at the end.

A sad day, and some very fitting tributes on this thread. He made the game interesting to watch and as much as Jimmy White and Ronnie O'Sullivan have entertained us , there will never be another Hurricane .

RIP
