| FIRST:- The Deal Each week, on a Wednesday evening, I will make up 10 poker starting hands :- e.g. As Ks or 2d2c. Each hand will be given a number from 1 to 10. So..As Ks might be number 3 for example. People can choose a number from 1 to 10..that will be their starting hand, but they won't be told what it is. ( so in the example if you chose number 3 you would have As Ks, but all you know is that you have number 3 ) SECOND:- The Flop, Turn and River ( the board ) Each week, one player from the contestants will get the chance to post a full board ( flop turn and river). They can choose any 5 cards for this. ( suggest this is done on Friday evening, to give people time to enter). Their choice is made from the remaining cards in the deck..which I will post so they can pick them. They won't know what hand they are holding. No one else will know theirs either.. First week, the player with hand number 1 can choose the board. After that it will be the winner of the previous weeks game. THIRD :- The Showdown. Then the hands that correspond to your chosen numbers will be revealed. The person who makes the highest poker hand using their given number and that weeks board will win the pot and also get to pick the board for the next weeks hand. The player choosing the board can pick AAKJJ if he wants to ( and they are available)... but might find that he holds 22 It's a kind of blind forum bingo game. It is limited to 10 players as a real game is. Otherwise there would not be enough cards left to make an interesting board. SPLIT POTS:- If the pot is split the player with the highest spade will get to pick next weeks board. If that doesn't decide it then it will be highest heart, then club, then diamond. I won't be able to play because I will know what the starting hands are, but I don't mind doing it to get something going for a bit of fun. Post names here if you want to join in, along with your chosen hand number from 1 to 10 inclusive. Remember :- first come first served as the limit is 10 players. Buy in is 20,00 credits per player, winner takes all.( 200,000 ). PS...I can make up the 10 hands and PM it to someone else for them to post, once all the numbers are chosen, but before the board gets posted. That way, I can't possibly change the hands to suit anyone. We would need someone willing to get a pm from me once a week with the starting hands, who isn't the person choosing the board.

| You can post me the hands if you wish, as I don't really want to play the game.

| Thanks fozzy for volunteering your services, much appreciated. So far we only have 3 people wanting to try it out. I have dealt out 10 random hands and noted them down. If there is no more interest by 7 pm Friday evening ( UK time ), then I will post the remaining cards for JimG to choose this weeks board ( he's hand number 1 ). I'll also send Fozzy the list of numbered hands. Once Jim has chosen the board ( any method he wants to use is ok ), then if Fozzy would be so kind as post the hand list, we'll see if this works. ![]() The pot is currently 60k creds. I misprinted the buy in on the first post, sorry all it should have read 20,000 creds. The easiest way to deal with the buyins is if everyone just agrees to send the winner 20k. ( a retrospective buy in ). We have to just trust that people will do that. ( I'm pretty sure we're all trustworthy enough ). Watch this space tomorrow evening. Have a good day all P.

| I assume Phatt that I would be laying down the entire board at one time... 5 cards... In thinking about this, I think I've discovered a significant flaw in the game... I am merely going to put down 5 cards from the deck... but who's to say that one (or more) of those 5 aren't already included among the 20 cards that you have as the down cards? Duplicate cards ---- ehhhh, I guess it's ok... on OP66 we have changing cards, so what's the difference, huh? ![]() Thoughts on how to handle or address this? |

| Hi Jim ![]() The board is chosen from the remaining cards now that the hands have been dealt. I've put them all here. You can choose any 5, using any method you prefer. Once you've chosen 5, then post them here for all to see. Then the hands will be made known, and people just have to match up with the board to make their best holdem hand. H... A 2 3 5 7 9 T Q K C... A 4 5 6 7 J D... A 2 4 7 8 J Q K S... 2 3 6 8 9 T J Q K Fozzy will post the hand list after you've posted the board. Thanks again Fozzy. Hopefully we can keep this going as a weekly lottery. ![]()

| An idea for this game - any thoughts on this...? How about, if me and Fozzy aren't playing, maybe I could deal the hands and Fozzy could pick the board.( or vice versa ) instead of one of the players choosing it. That way, you could all get to know your hands first, and me or Fozzy could post the board in stages, one each day. It might add an element of suspense if you knew your hand and you were waiting for a certain card on the river, and it would be the same way round as a poker hand, or a bingo game. Just a thought... the game's still in the formative stages and all suggestions/ideas are welcome. I haven't even put this to Fozzy yet....( sorry Fozzy, this was one of those spur of the moment things ) He may not want to, perfectly understandable, but if not maybe someone else who isn't playing might be able to help. Alternatively, someone who wants to get involved could do it, then be given a 'free bye' in to the next weeks game. So it is done in rotation. ( it would mean a total pot of buyins X 9 instead of 10 ). Whichever way, it has to be someone who isn't in the game that week. Also. should we keep the same 'seats' ( hand numbers) every week, or would it be better to give others a chance to buy in on the first come - first served basis? Can it be improved on? If so, how? Over to you...

![]() Have a few suggestions, but need to go and pick the kids up. Will post presently. OK, seats, I would suggest that if you are not getting a full table, then people should be able to keep the same seats. However, if the game is popular and the table is full, then it would seem fair to do it on a first come first served basis each week. Picking the community cards, personally I think the variety you get from different people doing it each week is more appealing. If you want to create the suspense by showing the flop, turn, river seperately, how about the person selecting them PM's you and me with their choices beforehand in the same way as you are sending me the starting hands.

He / she won't get quite the same suspense, but if it is a different person each week then it evens out. Nice thinking Fozzy, just what the doctor ordered .I think this week should see the wrinkles ironed out. Wizz...you're in seat 10. Good luck.

| The potential snag of previous weeks winner not getting in on the first come, first served basis.....Well, initially, I'd say see how it goes, the game may or may not prove popular, it may never be an issue. If it is, maybe the player who picks the previous weeks winning seat could choose if the previous weeks winner misses out on a seat ( OK, it may make that seat popular, but I doubt it, would expect people to be picking a favourite number from 1-10 rather than being desperate to pick the board for the following week.
