Default olympic games london

one year left before the start of the london olympics,im looking forward to the games in london not that i will go to any event, but will watch most from my tv.
but ive got a question for all nations on the olympics has it lost that sparkle of a amatuer event ,when most who take part are profesionals and are well paid in there sports.also the football ,love my football but we take part in the games as G.B.and are going to have a G.B.side .hope this dont ruin our individual status at other events i.e world cup and euros.
your thoughts please

I'm a bit non-plussed with it at the moment, but will get into it once it arrives.
The football team competing as GB will have no effect whatsoever on our individual status as we have separate football leagues and separate associations....plus the Scots have boycotted the GB team...not sure if any of there players would have made the team though.

No Team GB

The Scottish, Welsh & Northern Irish football associations rejected the news of a British football team at the 2012 Olympics and that foul-mouthed idiot Seb Coe's reaction was "f*ck 'em"

Telboy, don't start me on the Olympics.

I have 7 and 4 yr old daughters. My wife and I applied for tickets for different sports, different price brackets, qualifying rounds and finals and got........... none, what a effing joke, of all the people I know who applied for tickets, one family got them for a hockey qualifier.

So it was a transparent and fair ballot, I think not. They never told us how many tickets were available in each price band, my suspicion is they just allocated them to the highest bidders with an absolute minimum of tickets to the lower price brackets.

i totally agree Fozzy....shambles!!!!!, but i bet all the foreign visitors get to see what they want, thats where they'll make their money back...tourism, not from us 'popping' along to OUR capital city for our Olympic year!!!!!

Agree with fozzy, total farce its all about the money.has a london resident, all london borough resisents, have been taxed thought the council tax to help pay towards the cost of the building costs.no offer of tickets or raffle as a way of a thank you for helping to pay for the games.
now we have been ask if we can take our annual holidays during the games to help reduce the burden on the transport system lmao what a joke.
so roll on the 29th of august, the day the real olympics starts, the paralympics games, where its not about the money, but taking part an giving your best.

ps anyone got a spare ticket to the womans beach volleyball.

This an enormous global event and was massively oversubscribed, people are going to be disappointed.
