| Balotelli had already been booked for a foul on Assou-Ekotto. Not a bad one admittedly, but stamping on Parker's head was a sending - off offence, even without the yellow he already had.
The penalty was indisputable, but Balotelli shouldn't have been on the pitch at that point. The fact that he won the penalty, then scored it, literally just added insult to injury.
I think the match showed just how close things are at the moment though...
to lose to a last minute penalty against a team as strong as Man City is no disgrace, and the goal by Bale was one of the best.
Spurs can still hold their heads up.
