for money thats determined by the state or country the person lives in

for fun i dont see any reason to limit the age
my 12 year old son plays poker on facebook and i play him too when i get the chance
poker in many ways is a sport and like all sports the younger you start the better you will be

What I like about this is the reminder of the 'old days'... notice the computer screen...

In Florida, you can go into a casino and gamble at 18, you just can't drink unless you are 21. Not sure about the other states, but I think most are the same.

i see poker the same as any other card game, so learn to play at any age, yes you cannot play for money until at the apprpriate age which i also believe is correct.

but playing and learning for free should have no age limit

no i'm saying learn how to play a card game, dont see the difference from a kid learning poker to learning how to play any other card game

for example.

you could have a family with a poker set, sitting around a table playing and no real money involved, if no real money is involved i dont see it as gambling

i never said it was gambling. i said learning/teaching a minor how to gamble. i personally wouldn't teach my son the rules of poker. i know you will say you can gamble with any card game but this has set rules on taking the other persons chips(money).

fully understand and respect your reasons and point of view dads.

however i still dont see that it is a problem to learn poker at a young age

imo gambling is not taught it's a natural instinct and starts from an early age...

no not at all mate, especially for money, i also feel that there is a fine line but big difference between encouraging gambling and competitiveness or encouraging our children to do well in whatever they choose to apply themselves to
