Noticed more so called all -ins by big stacks/chip leaders. Is going All-in when you have more chips then any other player really an All-in? Or just the easy way to bet? Now I understand the use of the all-in bet, just feel there are too many players using it way too often. Any thoughts players?

I think people that use it all the time just really don't know what their doing..All-in is a way to let everyone know your hand is good and to minimise the amount of players going for the pot. It's very risky if you have a small stack but very popular with a big stack ,an attempt to bully you away from the extra chips in the middle..it's very intimadating to players but I have to say I think people use it alot here because you have nothing real to loose...Good Luck

was playing a ring table earlier, and the chip leader kept going all-in everytime someone would bet. kept stealing the pot, guess that's how he got all those chips

| Wait until you have a strong hand and call. The odds will be in your favour, so chances are you will double up, and if you don't, there's always next time.

Thanks folks,I know why people do the all -in just think it's the easy way out.At some point people will get caught, but i've seen people suck out multiple times in a single game then just run over the table because they got lucky. For those of us who are really trying to learn the game and enjoy it,there seems to be far 2 much of it.I wonder if it's because they never show the early rounds of tourny's on TV, just the final tables were blinds are huge and it's basically all-in or fold??????????? and of course they edit the sh......out of it. P.S. I don't mind being beaten but I hate to lose. Last edited by divein; 05-31-2008 at 04:15 AM..

if i see a player limp into a hand.. (not raise) when im a chiplead i like to bully them. since im already leading then its going to cost them for every card they want to see. i will raise 4-5 times the BB. then if they call... on the flop ill bet about the pot size.. maybe a bit more. if they hit something really good they will reraise, if its decent they will call and fold if they have nothing. since im betting big, it discourages them from playing the bad hands.. and giving them less chance to get lucky. it slowly wears them down and keeps me in the lead. i understand that you can lose a lot doing this.. but if you do it right, the wins overcome the losses by a long shot. i love this strategy lol.

all people play in different ways, its bout playing the ods and your luck, after all if the chip leader goes all in every so often it must be workin for him, thats why hes chip leader, if ya dont wana call, dont.it can be a bit frustrating alright when some1 keeps goin all in but thats poker.

The all in players get caught sometime during the game , just be patient in wait for the right time to strike.
