| the only card that can help an AA is another ace... since there are only 2 left in the deck the odds of another one coming out arent that great. if you have AKs. sure it doesnt have the best starting odds, but you have a better flush and straight possiblility. if AA is vs AKs, i think AA would win 99% of the time. the odds of another A coming out are slim but are better than 2 kings coming out, or 10/J/Q or 3 of the same suit as the AK. anything can happen though lol. |

| AA because AKs often leaves you nothing. but at a full 10 player table i'd say AKs because it has the potential for a nut straight or a nut flush |

i dont know how you are playing them, but whatever you are doing now is not working. perhaps try being very agressive with them pre-flop, or if you've done that, then try playing them slow and have a look at the flop before getting your chips in. with pocket aces especially, you will usually either win a small pot, or lose a big one. be lucky |

| ace with any suited card , preferably king , queen or jack but any other will do. with a flush you still hold the nut flush ( ace high ) but careful around those straight flushes , lost big time once doing that :/ pocket rockets make nice cards assuming you have many chips to make the pre-flop big bet. KK and QQ take 3rd spot for me.

| AA would always be preferrable. AK suited does present more potentially superior hands, but these are statistically improbable. AA means your opponent HAS to hit at least two pair to best you...unless of course they have AA too |

| Statistically AA is the best starting hand. If you take AA out of the deck and deal some random starting hands and a random board AA will give you the best hand the majority of the time. If you look at the table via the link below you can see that AA will win 85% of the time against an unknown hand in a heads up situation and also performs best winning 31% of the time against 9 other unknown starting hands. By comparison AKs is ranked 4th best hand (behind KK and QQ) when there are several players and slips to 8th in a heads up being statistically worse in this situation than 88. http://www.gocee.com/poker/HE_Val_Sort.htm |

| With pocket Aces I always go all in. You stand a better chance as the players going against you will be looking for flushes, 3 of a kind. Top pair in the pocket always stands a good chance but get rid of the straights and 2 pair hands with all in. |
