Default Betting against bullies?

When I play newbie tables I can only buy in $250!

Other have maybe 2000 or 3000. THey always bully at the start of the game with big bets.

How do I bet against them?

your biggest asset is patience. you have to just wait on your all in hand. dont let people chip all your chips away.it only takes one hand to be in it.

Then after you take all their chips, start bullying them and see how they like it

As pokerdonnie3 says "your biggest asset is patience".

You waiting for a good hand will not only frustrate them, but then when you do start going in for the kill, the bully will very likely follow

Kind of sucks being short stacked....bullies can play all sorts of hands and pick up all the trash hands. Eventually they will get theres though. I agree that patience is your only weapon.

Bullies?? No such thing..they had to start play with the same buy in limits. They earned the right to use the chip stack. Earned it from other players after all and the right to steal the blinds if a better hand can't or won't call. All part of the game - love it.

The only way to handle a so called Bully is to wait for a good hand. When they see that you are not going to go all in with them they will stop trying to "make the big bucks" and will either go to another table or start bidding the way the rest of the table is bidding, so just keep FOLDING until you have a GOOD hand. Make them play your game, DON'T play theirs.
Welcome to the FORUM and GOOD LUCK!

Of course they start with same limit..but when join the table they possibly has more and more chips.... then they start to all in.. because no other player has the same amount like he do...and the diff is more and more chips... if we win one then he will get back his balance..then he do it again...with some of luck he manage win all others player chips....

I really hate when that happen.....!!!!

Peace no war....

I do this in tournament play when I've got a decent stack playing against a short one but wouldn't do it too much on the normal tables because I may have been at the table longer and gained more chips, seeing it as unfair. And as others have said, be patient, wait until you have something half decent to play with.

Like everyone else is saying... "Patience." Wait it out until you get that great hand. You may have to fold 10 in a row before that nice one lands. Don't pay attention to the blinds if they have that many more chips than you; even if you'r ein the Big Blind, don't feel like you have to call a raise... play smart. Folks with the large stack tend to play more recklessly. If you wait long enough, they'll play a stupid hand against your Ace-King. Remember, if they can cover your chips, you always have a chance to double-up.

You must be the guy with the big stack to give advice like that.

Ok i'll give my 2 chips worth other than 1 or 2 comments the wisdom shared is true, sometime it sounds bad but some thing aren't good. Power of the chips is important there are so many factors to game, and it all apart of it.Smart bets will keep you on top even if you only have 10 chips. i call it pushin the pot, this can be useful the best way i could put it is it's Poker you play with what you got, and some times its not alot.

Yes, I agree. Patience. Wait for AA KK QQ JJ AK and go all-in. When paying blinds, fold early unless you have a nuts hand on the flop (three of a kind, 4 of a kind, 5 suited, straight). Beware of two pairs, it is often easily beaten.

Or, learn to bluff major !!! Fold for 5-10 rounds and go all-in on a big bluff !!! Very often, they'll think you have been waiting for a big hand and that you have it now, so they won't take risk and fold !!! That must not be repeated very often !!!

Well, it depends. I agree with UseTheFork, wait for a good hand if you can, but if one's not coming soon enough a good bluff is always an option. I've done it before against these "bullies" and it did work. Then again, you've got to have the patience aswell.

If you don't want to get bullied as much join one of the mini tournies... everyone starts out with the same amount so bullying is much harder to do -- especially since if someone goes all in and loses to someone who calls, they are out of the tourney for good. However, if this keeps happening, which it almost always does, keep your focus and stay patient, like everyone has been saying. Don't become frustrated and wait for that good hand ... when they go all in, call and steal those chips.
