| I need some advice. I just got off a big losing streak that I was able to recover from towards the end to only be down about a euro. But my problem was this: there were a couple of times I was heads up at the table with an opponent and was feeling good about each of those. Played cautious aggressive against a nit. Played TAG and a little passive against a bully. And bet for extreme value against a call station. My problem was when the table filled up. I know we've had multiple discussions on how to play against a fish or a shark or a bully or a rock, etc etc etc. (for instance different types of players ! ! !) But what do you do with different textures of players. Like today I had a TAG across from me a LAG to my right and a LP to my left. It was easy if I raised and was only up against one of them or had position on the loose ones, but the 3/4 way out of position was tough. I folded a lot more hand than I should 4 way because of it. I was getting the hang of it until the end, but just in general how do you advise playing against multiple opponents, all with different styles? |

| Ducks, personally i'd go for leather because leather will never go out of fashion. lol On a serious note though its a bit of dead qestion to be honest, Duke.. because no matter what table you join there will always be various styles of play there. But i do understand where you're coming from. I figure you was playing an sng table.... so in that situation i'd defo only play when im in position and depending on who's made a bet and the value of the bet. Basically i'd wait until i was up against one or two other players before i decided to make a call of sorts. Similarly in a tourny i'd defo hold off playing my cards until i had a top premium hand. But if you was in for long stint with with these players i'd suggest trying to establish a tight aggressive style. That way you might influence the others to question their calls against you. Its a risk playing it... but if you raise a few position calls, then fold if a bet or raise follows.... but if you hit good early that will defo slow then down and make them think before placing a bet. What your trying to do is change the pattern of the play on the table. if the pattern doesnt suit you, you gotta either try and change it or leave. thats my view on it.. im no expert, duke, but im only saying from experience. Hope that helps. Fut. |

The only thing about this is when I'm card dead. It becomes very obvious I have a good hand when I'm only betting 1 out of 20 hands . But the second I play a hand even slightly below top notch, I get beat by random hands hitting on the river. I guess if playing loose means I blow my money and playing tight means I slowly leak my money, it's better to choose the slow leak and hope I can get lucky or find a spot. |
