I just played on a table and lost despite having AK and the other cards being J, 10, 9, Q. I thought I had a good hand but I lost and it said someone one with a Q high flush won. Am i being stupid or summit?

Unless your cards were all of the same suit then I'm afraid you were outdone by a better hand my friend. A flush beats a straight any day of the week

You had and Ace high straight they had a queen high flush? If that's the case, a flush beats a straight in hand rankings.

Indeed, Queen high flush would be five cards of the same suit the highest of which being a Queen.
