Default drawing chips when you have overwhelming hand

i have gotten nice flushes and even 4 aces but havent managed to bet an amount that draws chips out of my opponent(s). How can I achieve this?

if they have been playing aggresively i would check or bet the minimum
they would most likely raise, an you counter by a reraise
they usually call because they already commited chips to the pot
if theyve been checking or calling... i really dont know

Sometimes if you bet small people won't call, and sometimes if you bet big you will get people to call. It's something that you learn with experience.

Sounds like you've been playing on some tight tables. If that occurs again try bluffing a few hands you might make up some chips you loose out on when you do have a good hand.

Anyhow, drawing chips when you have a good hand... its all about your previous play on the table, if you have shown at some point that you bluff people might bet against you. If however you have shown that you only call or bet high when you have a good hand people will fold!

This is only my observation on the game and to be honest i dont want to advise people to play any differnt from the way they play already, so continue with the way you play and one day you will get lucky with that winning hand.

If you have the nuts (the best possible hand) it has to be the slowplay.. either check/call or min bet and hopefully you will bring out a bluff from your opponent

unfortunately you can't force you're opponent to part with their stack if they are playing a tight game. if the check/minimum bet tactic doesn't seem to be drawing out any bets or raises, just take down the pot and use this information against him/her by playing a more aggressive game.

Nothing wrong with taking blinds.

It's always better to take more though - the key to doing that is making your opponent think they have the better hand and they are in control.
Learn pot odds and determine whether you want to risk losing to get more money, or just take the pot as it is.

If the flop comes up as J 10 4, and you've got A J - a normal size bet would be around 2/3's of the pot in order to stop people limping a straight.
Try only betting 1/3rd - people will call you, which is what you want, but equally you risk the possibility of the nuts moving away from you.

In my opinion though, it's better to win a little many times, than to win big once by risking your stack.

Edit: Raise pre-flop if you're holding a very strong hand. It sometimes commits people to moves they wouldn't usually make, and even if they do fold - you've earnt more than just the blinds.
