| Just for you Gricey ---------- Background: One on one again. You are short stacked, but have put in a lot of money at the flop when your set came up. Since then, things may have changed however. Pocket: 5 5 Middle: 5 6 K 7 8 Your opponent makes a large bet. Not enough to make you go all in, but close enough. He could have the straight, or he could be overplaying his King pair. What do you do? |

| That's tough. First of all you've already put a lot of money in the pot. second of all your opponent presumably didn't catch a runner runner straight with so much money invested in the pot. unless he had K9 I couldn't see how the 5678 could help him. So yeah call.

| In heads up play, It would not be unlike me to raise or even reraise with 9,10s or even 8,9s ... So I would be careful in this situation. So many times a set can let u down if u dont put the pressure on your opponent before they catch their straight. You would have to have a good read of your opponent, (assuming this is at the end of a tourney of some description, you should have some idea), But most times, If you are the short stack, you have no choice.. You may not get another chance. Just next time, you would be better to force him out after the flop if you can ![]() |
