very unlucky flop. Only thing i can see is you should of raised it up quite a bit more before the flop and the river gave u a good bluff card if u thought u where behind but I like you woulda thought AJ good at that point. I hate the minimum raise as it just invites a bad beat and their always priced in.

yeah for me, a bigger raise preflop was needed...

but even then u'd still probly be called, ppl just want to see a flop on here, and once they do dont wanna back down it seems...ul

I don't think you did anything wrong, he slowplayed you beautifully. Sorry mate, but credit where credit is due......

To me, the only thing that you could have done differently would be a bigger pre-flop raise. I know that pros would say that this would be the recommended action, but personally I have been stung so often doing this that I usually just call with a hand like A J.

It's not even a hand that you can learn from since he gave no indication whatsoever of having two pair. Just really unlucky.

Cheers guys. very good point about the pre flop raise, ducks has a point though, and if i was playing poker players I would maybe have raised more.

Still, I chose to make lowest raise

Yeah like everyone else has said, it was just that pre flop raise :/. Min raise is good for big suited hands and poket pairs. But with AJ off you wanna be hitting 4x the BB in the best of cases, maybe more if there are loads in the hand.
After that you did everything right and just got caught.

I mean there's not really a way you can dissect the opponents way of thinking when they are calling in AT ALL with J5 off.
(for any one who caught me playing 2/7 off... I understand the hypocrisy here xD.)

Best hand pre flop, top pair top kicker after the flop without too much to be worried about apart from someone possibly chasing a flush draw.

ARSJAN1 sat in the big blind, would he have called a bigger raise pre flop ? Who knows. If you had made a bigger pre flop raise, he may have folded and you could have taken down a small pot.

If he had called anyway, chances are more chips would have gone in and you would have lost a bigger pot.

As all the other comments have said, the only section of the hand that you really had any chance to play differently was pre flop, but that said, it is hard to say you even played that badly.
