This is another of the biggest problem for a lot of players. I get asked a lot "How many hands should I call/fold" The truth is it's dependant on the game, but you should really be looking at folding approx 75% of your hands. So what hands should you play?? I would personally only play high pairs and the big ones (Suited or not). Ex. AK AJ AQ A10 KQ KJ K10 Q10 and AA KK JJ 1010 10J at a push dependant on the blinds. If you're feeling lucky and doing well, maybe try a suited connector EX. 9/10 10/J But never ever over use suited connectors. Remember there is no rush, and most of the people that get knocked out quickly have over-bet or played hands, there is no need to. That's the basics and I will update later. Let me know what you think.

i so disagry with this if your only going to play this tipe of hand it wont be long befor you get a repatation and you wont get any calls pre flop the hands you have sead are all premeam hands yes but many many hands outher than them are going to win a high % of the time so yes i'd only call pre flop raises with this tipe of hand but if you can get in cheap pre flop then id say 2,3 / 3,4 / 4,5 / 6,7 / 8,9 / ace 2 / ace 3 / ace 4 and all small pairs and any suted cards with 1 over 9 would be perfecly good calls too your right there is no rush but i dont see why youd cut yourself out of the game if the price is low and the pot odds are there to make it a good risk to take????????

Like i said this is dependant on blinds and postion. and this is a good postion to be in, as when you choose to bluff, people may be a bit wary of you and you can steal some good pots, especially in a tounament. People seem to play a bit looser on tables and that's why a lot of money is lost. I believe a strategy like this could win a lot of money on tables, as it has for me. Like i said, this is my personal opinion, thanks for the feedback roo :P |

dont get me roung i was not saying what you sead was roung just trying to point out you cant set this a compleat game plan as i know a lot of the newbys read this i was pointing out how you need to mix up your game so thay dont set there game in stone i also see your point about the table v's torny play as on the low stakes table games its so much harder to read the play as many dont know how to best play there hand so it can be aratic so if your going to play waghting for the best hands is the way to go but when your in a torny its much better to move you game about a bit and make plays with lower cards as many players have a good abilty to read so making your self un readable is a good advanteg if thay think you are capeble of making that pre flop rase with 5 7 off suet thay are less likly to call when thats the hand your reprsenting ( i dont like the word bluff as it can sound like you making a unthought about play to steal the pot when most of the time its the result of a read you think you have on your oponent if i think thay only have 2ed pair and i have 3ed pair my "bluff" is a thought about bet that i think i can make them fold) ps this must be the best poker talk iv had in a quite a bit and i thank you for that

most of hands originally listed are raising hands i'd say,and i agree with roo depending on blinds/position/etc: there are many calling hands and your own favourate one's

if you are playing in a multi table tourney, you can get away with this up until the final 1 or 2 tables, assuming that when you do hit a hand like this you take advantage of it and maximize profits. once you are down to few players at a table, you should play more hands that because your chance that you have something better than everyone else is higher.
