| This isn't necessarily going to be a big "guide"... I just wanted to share what I find successful when playing low cards.. When you have low cards EX: 2,3 / 2,4 / 2,5 / 2,6/ 3,3 / and so on.. Have two of the same card(in hand) Simply play it till the river at any cost... That's what I often do.. then win ![]() Low connectors (EX: 2,3) If there flop contains 4,5 or 4,6 or 5,6.. Then you should play till the river..(when using 2,3) because you only need a 4, 5, 6 for a straight. Low cards You should be low cards to the flop only... unless you can check instead of calling a bet. && Guide not complete. Will be finishing the guide shortly. |

| My advice for playing low cards... DON'T! That is, unless the two are paired. Seriously though, i wouldnt even call the big blind from the small blind with a hand like 6 2. 65s is probs the lowest id go lol. What a bad guide, see the river at any cost? The board could well have 3 overcards, waste of chips. Try and see the turn and river cheap by all means but fold to a sizeable bet- same with a straight draw... | I agree its ok to play them in the early rounds of the blinds and you should continue to the river only if the bets are staying small and you have a good piece of the flop or turn. When later on you should fold as you will be wasting chips. |

| Its all got to do with the position on the table...and the style the other players are playing... Every game is different and you should adjust your style of play to the game. |

| I only play low cards on low blinds and checks, paying chips to see what the river holds seems odd to me. maybe on the ring tables with a good chip lead but never on the tourneys! Just an opinion.

| Playing styles fall into: tight/conservative ... only play premium hands or good hands with position loose / agressive .. play a wide range of hands (also with position) very loose / super aggressive .. play anything within reason You see this on the tables and you need to know what you are up against. You need more skill the more aggressive you are particularly if you are up against tight players who will only be in a hand with good starting values. The looser you are the more skill you need as you are generally spending chips to play every hand. You need a wide range of strategies to win chips because often you will not have the best hand. You can get into very dangerous positions if you are not careful. Its this that make the game interesting, although I must confess I do get wound up when my AK loses to 53 offsuit.. but hey in most cases I will win.. the skill is knowing when yr beat and get out quick. I agree with Mac46. Now, of course you can play sometimes those hands. But playing them so systematically isn't a good strategy. It can be statistically prooved. ![]() |
