well, as you can see, i was up against roo, i should have realized roo hit a set once he re-raised me, but i couldn`t resist. bearing in mind, roo loves 69.
the A on the turn meant there was no going back lol.
funnily enough, we were all discussing good folds 1 minute before this hand..lol

depends really, its so difficult putting someone on pocket pair, therefore when they hit the set it spells out big trouble(which you dont know about) however a 720 re-raise from known "good" players usually means trouble as well ;p

You have two solid players here that can become loose cannons anytime during the game. That's a good thing. Knowing the players as well as I do I would have played the hand the same from both sides, however I would have reluctantly made the $540 call. After that you were pot committed. Low pocket pairs are certainly unexpected and devastating.

I think your statement " carnage coming up me thinks" told you that you were behind. But I can understand the bloodrush when the Ace came on the turn.

I think its one of those hands that you play differently with hindsight than you do in the heat of battle.

Honestly, considering you had top pair on the turn, and a high kicker, your first move was understandable. but then he raised so abruptly, the question is, do you really thing a pair of nines was worth 540. now when the turn came up ace, i can see your 435 bet, seeing as you had already assumed your original pair beat his hand.however since the ace was in your favor, perhaps you should have re raised.But under the circumstances I probabaly would have played it the same way.

i didnt hit trips like Roo
but when roo raises i know ur in trouble
especially with a 9 on the flop
wasnt prepared to risk my pockets against a roo raise

There is something that matter here a lot : Roo made his raise with 3 players remaining behind who could have hitted something too... It's obviously a risky bluff if it was one!
6 players in the pot and for cheap, only a pair for you and your whole stack implied if calling, errm I don't think you can call in an Outlaws tourney (I would have go all-in with A9 in an ultra Outlaws but preflop )

yeah, but you folded pockey 9`s with 3 other players all in pre flop with only 4 players left, so a garanteed 3rd place if you fold. i would have folded AA in that situation..

i have seen roo reraise with 69 before after hitting top pair on flop.
i will say, on another day, i would have folded. i make different kinds of decisions from one day to the next.
