| It is well known that in a good strategy is based on many parameters, only some being the actual cards one holds or sees on the table. I have just watched with great pleasure a series of videos where the above point has fascinating consequences (link to the first episode of four) The table is one the best you can get: - Moneymaker - Hellmuth - Deeb - Esfandiari - Hansen - Ivey It is the last stage for qualifying for The Poker Superstar's super 16. Rankings from previous stages gives each players very different perspectives on what to aim for. Gus Hansen has the worst rank and his only option to get to the final 16 is to win the table. The others have more room. Could frantic all-ining sometimes be the best strategy? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| a intresting though stern but personaly i think the only time for "frantic all-ining" is when your in a position of not being able to play your true game eg to short on chips to be able to make a real move or out of your of your own leage as in all the players on table are playing to a standed your not at that time able to play but i would add a "frantic all-iner" is extreamly hard to play aganset as it leaves little for you to do but to flip a coin and hope for the best just to get ride of them

Ha has to aim for 1st only. Othres can afford lesser rankings (but not all the same ones), so he is going for it, stealing blinds, building a safe big stack while all are folding to get to their qualifiying position until a turning point where he has to change strategy. It is all clear and beautifull executed (with the zest of luck, of course). Such a conjoncture makes sense only in very rare contexts m8. I was just sharing a video I had a lot of pleasure to watch. That's all... |

| I love these type threads. I was watching the worldpokertour the other day on tv. Their was a young internet player who was using this method. He had about an average chipstack.it was a 4 handed game and this guy at one point went all in 4 hands in a row. He never got called and the blinds where huge. He finally got dealt pck Queens and went all in. He got called by ace king and lost. Whats funny is the other hands he went all in with he had 9 hi or worse in those 4 in a row lol.but he pulled this move atleast 7 or 8 times in all before catching Queens. I cant remember his name but if I see it on again ill take note.

| yeah stern i remember watching this once on tv i think (not live) and i was amazed by the great dane....but was it intelligent or madness!? lol, he pushed all-in without even looking at his hand (with pocket 2's!!!!) against phil hellmuth, who called with AJ and lost ![]() i like gus, he's so chilled out at the tables yet he plays like a total nut case everytime i seen him lol gr8 stuff ![]() kwak Last edited by Pocket_Ducks; 07-17-2010 at 10:20 PM.. |

Well, what is certain is that it is totally planned ahead(and as for me clearly intelligence over madness). On opening the game he sits with all his cool and says "Guys: I have a piece of advice for you for this game: don't try to raise my blinds". Everyone first just laughs lighly thinking he is just saying that not to get his big blind stolen. And after a while they realize what he has in mind for the first part of the game... and they laugh a bit less. He probably has beaten the record of consecutive hands won in a big event, as the table discusses at some point. |
