Thumbs up A little help

A good idea when playing is to try and see as many flops as possiable so you can judge the strength of your hand fully, otherwise you might fold the best hand without knowing it. Pocket pairs are a good start for a hand usally only if they are 10s or higher but you should always try to see the flop just in case. Dont be fooled by people going all-in at a moments notice they are most likly just trying to double up, hope this helps. Reply with any other questions you might have and i will try and answer them to the best of my knowledge and may all your pots be monsters.

I found playing this way i lose a lot of chips, might just be me. Obviously it depends on the blinds though, if the blind is 300/600 etc you shouldn't go in with 2 7 unsuited or other bad cards.

exactly...if blinds are big, it's a waste of money to see the flop with 2-7, 3-8 etc.
Odds are way too low...

i think it's normally a good idea to fold pre-flop with a bad hand

Seeing as many flops as you can is pretty much a sure way to go bust! You want to be playing premium hands only in the early stages of a tourney, lossening up a little as it gets towards the cut-off (mainly as players tighten up to make the payout so you can "bluff" easy chips here).
In a ring game your range can be a bit wider than premium, dropping to connectors and semi-connectors. If short-handed your range can drop even more if you like to be aggressive.
