| I do many different things from the small blind depending on the circumstances. Most of the time I call even with crappy cards, especially if most people folded. For some reason when I see 50 chips put in from the small blind, i feel committed to put in the other 50. most of the time however this doesn't seem to be too smart so lately ive been folding more often from the small blind. Does anyone have any comments on this what do you like to do from the small blind? |

| If you have rubbish, fold, otherwise all you are doing most of the time is giving away twice as many chips. Also you will be out of position after the flop, being always the first to bet. Premium hands are the only ones you want to be playing from the small blind position. Obviously, if you are in a shorthanded table, then your interpretation of a premium hand will have to be adjusted accordingly.

| that is true but say everyone else has already folded pre flop so if you fold the big blind wins your small blind, even with a sub-average hand i still tend to call if there are very few people left in the hand. i also tend to call more if the blinds are small like at the beginning of touranments but thats just my opinion |

| Just put it this way, you are already half way in if no one has raised before you. |

| you should look at youre s/b blinds as part of youre game fee, if you have a good small blind then call or bet. but i see so many people call there small blinds with rubbish, i think they think that they are loosing out if they dont call, i used to do that very thing. but i have learned to fold a small blind unless i have a half dacsent hand...

| Depends how big the blinds are and how crap the cards are. Position won't help you after the flop though, so probably best to conserve your chips and get that extra bit more from a guaranteed* winner. * no such thing.

| Just depends on the texture of the game, and what cards are winning. They seem to run in cycles. ![]() |

| Normally you only want to play premiums with the small blind. But "normally" people raise preflop. Here, you often find many limpers and no raisers. So you can end up having 8 limpers which gives amazing pot odds. say blinds are 20, 8 limpers before you = 160 + blinds = 190, you only have to put 10 more to be in the pot. Pot odds are just skyrocket high So if the blinds are not costly relative to your stack, you might want to play almost any hand. Check/Fold immediately if you don't hit a strong flop. |
