Also not to be a nit but Id like to add. I usually limp with a small pair. But sometimes if I think im only one with a pair preflop Ill raise in order to hopefully isolate my hand against one player (or later on maybe take down blinds and antes)especially with 7s or 8s something in that range. Think of how many times u just call with 7s or 8s and get outdrawn by 9-5 or k-7 or anyother bull hand that just got in because its cheap. If u raise in these spots occasionaly it can work. that said its risky too put too many of your chips at risk doing this but if It feels right ill try something different. For the most part i agree limping in is usually best move and offers huge rewards if u hit a set and ur opponent has top pair. I find i do best when I try not to fall into a set patern of how I play certain hands but when in doubt go to the basics
