Default Pre-flop marginal hand

I am wondering what some would do before the flop. The way things have been going lately, I see more and more people paying to see the flop.

Scenario:

You have 9h and Qh
You are in seat just on the button.
You have an average stack. 2000
Blinds are 50/100
10 people at the table.
Disregarding player evaluation:

1. What would you do if no one before you calls. Pot size 150

2. What would you do if 2 before you calls. Pot size 350

3. What would you do if 5 people before you calls. Pot size 650

My answers:
1. I would call. 9 Q suited is not a great hand but I am only going against the blinds.

2. I would fold - two potentially good hands against me plus blinds.

3. I would call - lots of potentail against me but the pot has increased to the point that it might be worth a shot to see the flop.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO???

1. fold..... ( would be a hard hand to play even if i hit top pair on flop. so the only thing id be looking for would be to flop st8 posabilatys or 2 pair witch is unlikly )
2 fold....( with only 4/1 on my chips with at least 3 players in the hand 2 of witch id belive to have better hands im not getting the risk to reword factor on my chips to call )
3 flat call .... (7/1 on my chips i now have pot odds for this hand to see a cheap pot and the inplyed odds are gr8 if i was to hit 2 pair or better)

1. Raise - steal the blinds, even if they call you can make a standard continuation bet on the flop... you are in position and always act last in the hand which gives you a great advantage.
2. Fold - there is not enough value in this pot right now, and someone in the blinds can easily raise you out if you do decide to call.
3. Call - this is a great hand agaisnt multiple opponents, as its one that will either hit the flop very hard or completely miss, so its not a hard hand to play in that respect, but do watch out if you hit top pair, play it cautiously.

Alot of great points made and I cant argue with any of your logic. I would however make one point and it is that often the biggest consideration in what to do depends on who else is in the pot. I see that you excluded this in your scenario but I still felt I should make that point. I play by feel more than by math or what is considered the correct move. Q 9 suited is hand you want to see flop with and in the right situation it can be a monster 2 or 3 handed. Q 9 suited can also get you in big trouble if a Queen comes or if you flop a flush or strait draw and cant get away. Dont forget this is poker and their are hundeds or thousands of variables that will affect how you play or dont play your hand. Thanks to M 80 for getting us all thinking well done. good luck everyone and have a great day

1: well i wouldnt call because i'd be giving the sb/bb a cheap option to be in the hand and it shows weakness. so i'd either fold or raise.

2: fold

3: this one is a bit tricky...a risky move would be to raise to push out the limpers and increase your odds with fewer in the hand. but for me, a flat call would be the better choice because with so many callers you're probably garenteed to see the flop because i doubt the sb/bb will riase due to the amount of callers.

nice thread mate.

Great thread
I hate these types of hands. So tricky to play.

1. Would raise x3 to try n steal the pot. It would be risky for the blinds to raise me so i would expect a cold call at best. If i couldnt check a missed folp the probably an easy fold.

2. Would certainly fold. Most probably better hands before me.

3. Probably fold aswell. Would love to hit a great flop or bluff after the flop but if there is that many callers it is likely im gonna lose unless ive got a complete Q high straight or straight flush, little chance of that though
