im just playing mini tournaments maybe up to 20k buy in, i almost always make the last 2-4 players, but i am never the big stack but also rarely the smallest, i always see players making big wins on the river with hands they shouldn't have played (according to much advice ive read here). from there im am fighting just to keep up with the big stack and increasing blinds, should i risk more early to be stronger at the end or should i just keep waiting for good hands?

| I just blew it in the big tourney trying to move up the stack table with an ace queen and got put out by a queen king (queen king on the flop)... Sometimes its best to sit tight rather than worry about who's got the most chips... ![]()

I say wait for good hands. I'm very cautious at the beginning, especially with a full table. In Mini's it's about surviving to the top three. If you make that, it's all good. Once you get there be more aggresive and see if that works. The better players here can make it to the final three with the short stack and still win. Takes patience and practice.

i'd say, in mini tourney, if you have middle stack and theres 4-5 players left in the table, usually ones with smaller stack are playing very tight to make into top three, you should play more agressively against those players and steal their blinds...

that usually happens to me as well (i make it to last 2-4 players and have lowest chips) but lately ive been takin more chances and have been becoming chip leader more ofter. so i wud say be more risky ![]()

i usually wait for a decent hand then raise pre flop which narrows opponents if they just call then they usually have nothing leaving you to attack the blinds. its usually effective from all positions really good at late. but if they start tighting up it wont be as effective
