I find the tone of the thread becomes quite nasty and almost personal.

Mike is sometimes odd, writes much too many email but he also put lots of efforts in the thing, make lots of nice things for everyone (wwekly tourneys, customized avatars, T-shirts) + he is fun to be on with on the tables and is a goold player.

I am sure he just made some rules and is sticking to it. Wouldn't be surprised if he kicked himself out of the gorup if he didn't have enough chippie until he rebuilt his stack.

I don't really think he is that elitist.

Just my two pennies.

I was reluctant to join the group at first, coz I am not too much of a "club" guy let alone an elitist. Also, never took a MM avatar.

And I wouldn't have stayed if I had the feeling it was. But, contrary to the grain of most posts here, I don't really have the impression it is at all Mike's aim.

Also, I think the guy deserves some credit for his efforts.

and of course constructive comments and criticism if necessary.

I m not attacking anyone. But how somebody is kicked out and somebody is not. In my case was i was not been kicked out when i gave my millions? And now there are good players in group for who i have respect and they are not kicked out(Antzilla-24,392 , boblin86-185,325 , DrewMan-769,920 , mrtim08-3,351 ,stef68666-47,025) If there are rules than they should be for everybody and they are not.

ok, then it is another story. I still hope he made thismove random coz he doens't "check" all the time but if not there is indeed a problem.

anyway as I wrote in my first post on this thread, I don't think the chip count should matter but the presence on the high minis

I think everyone knows how much hard work MV puts into, I don't think anyone is saying anything against that. MV is a really cool person to play, always a good times. And I don't think he gets the credit that he deserves for that group.

i had zero chips about 1 month ago and was not kicked out,maybe i managed to get enough back in a given time i'm not sure.
but i thought these groups were for a bit of fun and bring players together and have a laugh a joke and then go and play some poker,so really nothing to serious.
for me i come here to play poker,meet new friends and a good laugh and a joke and try to improve.
red your a very good poker player and to be honest i aint got a clue what rules there are on this group regarding chips and anything else to be honest and yes i get millions of e-mails that i dont bother to read.
as for elite,no i dont think the group is elite,there's loads of good players here that are not in it.
can't really critisise mike,he's a good man at heart and is just i think trying to do his best and do his bit,but if being a member of any group becomes unenjoyable then its time to get out.

Elite or not you're still our BigRed and welcome at any table.
Fun to play against and you have a since of humor also.
I don't think an email should be sent to those who know the rules.
They merely aren't allowed to play until they requalify.
Maybe this should be sent to the suggestion box.
Afterall knowing you don't have enough chips to enter those games should be enough and also a strong motivator to build your chip count!
