Bingo play is just plain stupid play. Bingo play could be playing AK to the river, even when you should know it's beat, but playing it in the chance that the high ace might be worth something. Or going into a pot with 2/3 os without any sort of thought as to what you're actually looking to do in the hand, no plan as to what you're going to do on the flop and somehow still managing to win the hand.
I see a lot of people mistaking good play for bingo play because of what the cards played were :/. I guess Bingo play is just any play wherein luck was the determining factor; but then again that's every hand.

Hmmm...

It's hard to put your finger on exactly what bingo play is, but you know it when you see it. You just know when that flush draw shows on the board SOMEONE is going to roll over Q2s (out of position) and take all of your money.

OR

You know that you've got one chance left to make a move... You go all in preflop with some fine looking kings and BAM someone has called you with Ax os... A 4 Q flop.

For those who don't like odd ramblings:
Bingo Criteria:

1] Not understanding what it is you're doing with your bets and cards.
2] Not understanding when to quit.
3] Not understanding what others are doing with their bets.
4] ...
5] you get the gist.

I never said it was effective - said it happens in response to a diff comment. I am not trying to argue. as a matter of fact quite the opposite, trying to say all valid points. I just thought I'd offer a diff opinion.

I think that all responses indicate that there isn't a TRUE defintion of "Bingo".

I have on many occasions and I am sure most of you have to, is to play crap cards, calling the BB to see if you can by chance hit something on the flop. Yes, not playing the odds but hoping to catch a couple of good cards to make crap into fertlizer. I have said on other threads that I depending on my seat, chip count play my position with more importance than my two cards I hold throwing in a bluff occasionally and also showing them occasionally.

I do like X's thoughts on the topic

Nice thread Sexy....and I became curious on the true definition seeing that I have observed this type of player lately.

Definition: Bingo Player: A player that seems to have no logical strategy except hoping he/she gets lucky with the cards. This type of player can often annoy more experienced players as they could end up drawing to a strong hand when the odds were against them.

So...yes they are the types that annoy me (not saying I'm the experienced player) and yes I have turned right back around to those individuals and participated in their bingo play. Not saying it was right, was just trying to prove a point. And, unfortunately I never considered myself to ever be a bingo player, but in all honesty there have been times I played my cards trying to get lucky and the odds were against me. However, that is not my norm. By this definition, everyone here at some point would be bingo player because I believe we have all played some hands based on luck. Hm............just food for thought.

It's simple - any 2 cards can win. If your 2 cards beat my 2 cards you are a bingo player. You're also a git.
