I dont see how it can be prearranged in a tournament...? If someone gives there chips away by going all in on nothing..how does he or she know who's going to win them and many players win on nothing as its been proven. Also it could be a bluff that back fires, nethertheless its a good debatable thread. Steve.

I think reaper meant if a player went all in with 75 more chips than a 2K blind and then the player in the blind folding.

I see what your saying mate. In a sense yes they are dumping their chips. But that's not what would be considered 'chip dumping' in the cheating sense. As has been said, chip dumping is passing your chips to a specific player, usually having been pre-arranged. At least that's my understanding of it.

That said, you can often see situations in tourneys where the way the hand and players play out it could look like chip dumping when in fact it isn't.

Now i believe a player has been banned for chip dumping ???????

Can someone please tell me the difference ???
I would say its a mix of bad etiquette and poor sportsmanship, not chip dumping.

In a tourney situation the more likely scenario would be collusion between two or more players to gain advantage over other players.
