| Would like to hear alot of opinions,so im not going to make a sweeping statement, just thoughts i have as i type... I was here in the golden age of op66 when chips were cherished like real money, nearly wept in my pillow after a big loss and was wooop after a win, ammassing chips was the goal! But like most, site has changed, blah, blah, but im happy i have enough play chips to do what i want when i want.. But this year i started playing cash, and sadly miss, the free games due to new shifts.. But is it just me? I cant play free chip poker after playing money side.... The raises are ridiculous... The river out luck bets are amazing.... I could go on and on... Am i saying you used to get a realistic game on free side, and now you dont? Its very sad if thats the case,as im sure this site has made a few players good cash gamers,Baz,Stjimmy,Deano,Rad,Roo and loads more.. BUT!!! Have i just changed my game,so now im pants?!! ![]()

| i play free side sometimes to catch up with friends, have a good laugh at the tables and thats still there, but i do find if i play free poker too much it effects my real money game because there different. i'm still on a huge learning curve at cash tournaments, rearly play cash rings now, TBH there worse that free tables, outragious plays and bad beats. but cash tables/touraments can bore you silly, no 1 talking, no banter, no fun, guess thats the price you pay love playing with friends tho, and wish sngs here were more popular, i#'d play loads inbetween tournaments |

| Nice thread buddy, I aint played the cash side yet but I have been tempted to give it a go, when the missis gives me the go ahead.. ![]() On the free chip side though, everything you said happens. I myself lost millions and never thought I'd get them back, but using the mini-mammoth as a stepping stone its really easy to get back amongst the millions. All beats good and bad you just have to ride them and when you know the players your up against it helps. Happy new year my friend. ![]() Steve.

| Great thread - I agree 100%,they are not the same. People will call huge bets on the hope of crushing your pockets kings with an ace/rag, etc. I have said it all along, you can NOT play the free chips like they are real money, doesnt work. but I also wont play the cash side until they legalize online poker in the USA. I use to play for cash only until they changed the law and made it illegal and yes, it was a much better game usually. I am one of the fortunate ones though, I live close to several casino where I can play live poker and torunements 24/7. Xtreem Last edited by Xtreem1; 12-31-2011 at 06:36 PM.. |

| I have been playing free and cash poker for nearly 4 years. But because I've only played very low real money stakes, the difference between real and free is very minimal. But I recently had a nice cashout from here which I transferred to another site, where I've played a few medium stake mtt's, a few of which were televised. There were two £220 buy-ins and two £110 buy-ins. And the standard was amazing, it was very interesting watching the coverage of play by experts on the tv channel. half the feild were pros, I did ok in these tourneys, but were very tough, you just couldn't work out where you were in most hands, and these players using position to perfection, which is something you see little of with low stakes and free chips. And it goes to show how good players prosper, you always see the top pros making final tables on the higher stake mtt's. I don't play higher stake cash rings though. They don't suit my game.
